Renishaw Presents the new encóder linear absolute InAxis LinACE
LinACE Is an encóder linear absolute of high resistance designed for his integration in hydraulics actuators, tyres and electromechanical like element of obtaining of data of position or speed. The system has a precision of ±5 µm and provides a loop of complete control that improves considerably the hygiene and the performance. LinACE Applies an entirely new approach for the obtaining of data of linear position, designed and manufactured by the company RLS, subsidiary of
The encóder LinACE composes of a solid axis of steel with a totally integrated rule and a module of head reader deslizante that does not contain mobile internal pieces, what forms a complete system of high resistance to the shakes and the vibrations. The reliability in a wide range of temperatures is guaranteeed, with a rank of operation between -40 °C and +85 °C.
As in the majority of actuators, the axis is manufactured in steel to take advantage of his soft magnetic ‘characteristics'. The absolute code under the surface of the axis composes of small circular slots, fill up of material no magnetic, for example, temperate chromium or copper, depending on the application. Afterwards, the surface covers with temperate chromium and pule with a fine finishing.
Since the rule is passive, the external magnetic fields have an insignificant influence and LinACE is entirely immune to the pollution of dirt. Since the rule extends around the axis, can even turn when going in and go out without losing the position. Besides, the technician of manufacture of the rule keeps a hard and soft surface out of the surface of the axis, by what the operation of the actuator does not see altered by his presence. The diameters of the axis go of 4 to 30 mm, with lengths of measurement until 750 mm.
The rule reads by means of a module that incorporates a circuit ASIC to measure, with a disposal of sensors of effect Hall that provide a method of solid detection, reliable and compact. When processing the signals of ASIC, generates a series of configurations of standard exit of the sector, that allow to substitute the analog tension and the transductores of traditional current, the classical potentiometers and the LVDT. Besides, the absolute positions can transmit in a series of protocols, like CAN, SSI, SPI, I2C, RS422, RS485 asynchronous series and PWM, with a rank of resolutions of 100 µm to 0,5 µm.
The module incorporates two threads of integrated bronze in the carcasa of stainless steel that provide a soft movement and keep a precise alignment of the sensor on the axis, even in hostile conditions.
Precision, direct measurement and stability
The placing of the rule directly on the actuator provides several advantages metrológicas.en first place, the system has an impressesive precision of ±5 µm, thanks to the internal compensation of the head reader. Besides, since the rule is marked directly in the axis of the actuator, provides a direct measurement of the real position of the axis, that deletes the histéresis and holguras at the same time that improves the repetibilidad and the stability.
LinACE Can plant directly in the frontal part of the actuator, in this way, minimises the total size of the system, reduces the complexity and delete ways of potential failure, that do unnecessary other systems of parallel measurement. Thanks to this technology, the OEM can contemplate new possibilities of use of the actuators for applications in spaces reduced and with demanding enclosed loops.
The system distributes in kits in RLS. The customer can request to the commercial equipment of Renishaw, in collaboration with the technical equipment of RLS, a solution OEM totally integrated for a wide range of applications, for example, control of motion, medical, automation and others of the sector in which they use pneumatics actuators, hydraulics or electrical.
