METROMEET 2005 confirms the good health of metrology
2005 METROMEET, International Conference on Industrial Dimensional Metrology, was held in Bilbao on 7 and 8 April 2005 organized by Innovalia Association.
We can define the industrial dimensional metrology as the technological activity, dedicated to the collection of information and further processing, which has as objective the assessment of the conformity of industrial products with their specifications technical - dimensional.
Dimensional metrology includes the measurement of all those properties to be determined by the unit of length, as for example distance, position, diameter, roundness, flatness, roughness, etc. The length is one of the base of the international system of units (SI) quantity. The embedded software is a crucial sector whose economic importance grows day by day. Software, incorporated into a machine works by itself alone, without the need for interaction of any person. This type of software is a constant both in our homes (mobile phones, cars, ovens, washing machines...) as in other areas (planes, trains, systems of fire and control lighting, input devices for hotels..)
The Innovalia Association, expressed its satisfaction with the favorable response of the industry and warned of the need to promote meetings to promote the interaction between experts in the sector, because as concluded at Metromeet own Professor Robert Schmittof the famed University RWTH WZL of Aachen "weights and measures is the key factor in productivity."
The Technical Committee, chaired by Jesus Maria de la Maza, Vice-President of IACMM (Association International of manufacturers of machines coordinate measurement), was pleased by the welcome that took this initiative in the international industry.
