Cleanroom: flow cabinet and SAS

Picture of Cleanroom
For the elaboration, study and sample management, drugs and substances there are localized areas commonly known as flow cabins laminar, where the operator can work with a product and keep it isolated from the environment that surrounds it. There are different types of flow cabins laminar.

Class I. There is no protection of the operator and the environment against biological agents of risk, but there is no guarantee the sterility of the samples.

Class II. It provides protection to the operator, sample and environment of all kinds of low and moderate risk biological agents. With a class ISO 5 type A where 70% of the air is recirculated and the remaining 30% expelled abroad, prior Hepa filtration guaranteeing the protection of the environment. Type B operation is the same as the one described above but with the caveat that the percentages are reversed is 70% of air is expelled to the outside and 30% is re-circulated, this type of cab is deprecated.

Class III. It provides protection of the operator and the environment against all kinds of pathological agents. They are completely closed and inside only you access through ports with gloves.

For the passage of materials between different areas there are step SAS, preventing cross-contamination. It has a mechanical interlock that prevents the opening of the two doors simultaneously. As optional elements, there are additional electrical interlock, ultraviolet lamp for disinfection and absolute filtration system.

FM group technology develops and implements these teams in the design of cleanrooms.
