Textile expansion joints: custom manufacturing and customer requirements
Textile expansion joints provide almost unlimited flexibility (allowing movement in several directions simultaneously) and lots of design already that they are manufactured in any dimension and shape: circular, rectangular, square, oval, tapered or combinations. In addition, they are very easy to handle and install. Its high insulating capacity, sealing and its suppression of vibration and noise it must add to its excellent resistance to corrosion and high temperatures.
Flexible rubber band: its function is to absorb vibration and thermal movements of the duct. It can be simple, combining elastomer and fabric, or compound, built based on layers of different materials. Distribution of the layers, in the more complex case, it would be:-reinforcement in the area of flanges, that protects the expansion joint and adds thermal resistance in this area - outer cover, which protects the Board's expansion of external aggressions. Specially developed to withstand adverse environmental conditions, acids, corrosive atmospheres and inclement weather. The outer layers are fabrics of fibre glass silicone or PTFE, PVC, etc.
-Tight, waterproof and high chemical resistance of PTFE membrane or rubber - insulated, which ensures the functioning of the Board's expansion in optimal conditions, while reducing heat loss - woven fiber glass or silica that protect the insulation material, and supports thermal shock and chemical attack - stainless steel mesh that confer together added mechanical protection and dimensional stability counter flanges: fasten the headband to the duct flanges or metal frames. They can be screwed or mounted with clamps, which allow a quick replacement or replenishment of the headband.
Additional internal insulation: fiberglass or metal mesh fabric. Mattress elastic that it fills the cavity between the expansion joint and the internal metal baffles, protect the Board internal temperatures and abrasion from dust or ashes. Installed when operating conditions so require.
Metal baffles: prolong the life of the expansion joint to protect it from direct contact with the fluid, providing mechanical protection against abrasion or services with gases at high speeds. They design and build metal connections of fastening of the Board to the line according to the requirements of each installation.
