SolidWorks acquires Priware, CircuitWorks provider

SolidWorks Corporation has announced its acquisition of Priware Limited, based in the United Kingdom, Gold Partner of SolidWorks and the software developer of CircuitWorks, to cover the gap between electronic CAD software and CAD software mechanic. The acquisition provides engineers around the world a platform to integrate designs electronic and mechanical for the millions of electronic products that are developed each year.
According to BCC Research, the electronics sector will reach the 3 trillion in 2012. CircuitWorks allows engineers to accelerate and simplify the design of electronic products integrating CBAS files in their 3D models and drawings in 2D. As SolidWorks partner product, CirucuitWorks enables engineers to ensure that electronic components such as printed circuit board (PCB) plates conform and work correctly in their products; all this within the window of the SolidWorks design software.
Before, much of the electronic development involved designing the product to fit the electronic components. Together, SolidWorks and CircuitWorks, allow engineers to design PCB which comply with even more stylized product mark, either an MP3 player or the box of instruments of a new car.
For example, a mechanical engineer can use a PCB design (in formats of archive standard iDF and PADS) in a SolidWorks solid model for a new device of global positioning system (GPS) to try to ensure that the PCB is too close to the metal contacts. SolidWorks Routing would enable engineers to create media wiring to connect to the PCB. Engineer could also measure how the PCB would fit in place using CosmosWorks design validation software, and check the flow of heat with thermodynamic analysis CosmosFloWorks software.
This acquisition also provides software SolidWorks as an indispensable platform for developing mechatronic systems extremely complex combining components, mechanical and electronic processing of information in the field of Robotics and consumer electronics. The combination of CircuitWorks and SolidWorks allows engineers to use the digital modeling to improve product quality, reduce the prototyping and speed up the development.
