Safety mats: robust and flexible use
Schmersal offers safety mats that are characterized by an extremely robust construction, modular design and high resistance against acids, bleaches, oils and petrol. With its 1.5 million operations life cycle clearly exceed the requirements of the standard product.
The operating principle of these touch devices is very simple: If a person steps on the carpet the safety relay connected to the carpet for the dangerous movement of the machine. In this way, the zone of danger in wood treatment plants, lifts or stamping plants can be secured efficiently.
Carpets can be connected in series. As they exist in different dimensions, it is possible to protect irregular areas.
Schmersal offers two models of carpets. SMS 4 series is set in soil profiles and individual caps of aluminum. These aluminum serve as protection from the corners of the same carpet.
In series 5 SMS a polyurethane profile is directly molded in the active part of the carpet.
Both sets comply with the requirements of EN 1760-1 rules and are suitable to CC 3 to EN 954-1 or LDP according to ISO / EN 13849. Schmersal offers the relay security SRB 301 HC/R for the monitoring of the carpets.
