Descripción
Nikoletta is an independent lighting designer with more than 15 years of experience. Born in Athens and based in Barcelona since 2013, she has been involved as Senior Lighting Designer in international projects both as a freelancer as well as in collaboration with leading lighting firms in Barcelona, Athens and London.
She holds a BA (Hons) in Interior Design from the University of Derby (1999) and an MSc in Environmental Studies and Bioclimatic Architecture from the Polytechnic University of Madrid (2002).
In the past, she has worked on a wide range of projects (cultural centres, retail, offices and residential). Noteworthy among them are: the Spanish Pavilion at Expo Milano 2015 (Italy), the Centrum erný Most Shopping Centre (Czech Republic) and the Onassis Cultural Centre (Greece).In recent years she has mostly led high-end hospitality projects in Spain and internationally, notably the Ohla Eixample Hotel (Barcelona, Spain) the Prieta Beach Club (Peninsula Papagayo, Costa Rica), the Hyatt Andaz Mayakoba (Mexican Riviera), the Generator Hostel Paris (France).
Nikoletta is keen on promoting human comfort lighting and to that end she has participated in the organization of seminars about Architecture, Lighting and Art in Athens and Crete (Greece). She has also lectured and taught practical workshops in Barcelona since 2016.
In parallel with lighting design projects, Nikoletta is running sObres mestres, a food waste pop-up restaurant.
Less waste leads to a more sustainable living.
