The export of fruit and vegetables grows 10% in value and 6% in volume in May

The export of fruit in May increased 6% in value, totalizando 567 million euros and stabilised in volume with 557.842 tonnes (+1%). The main fruit exported in this month were citrus, watermelon, strawberry and melon.
In the accumulated of January to May, the export increased 5% in value and 4% in volume, situating in 3.776 million euros and 5,1 million tonnes. The export of vegetables situated in 2,3 million tonnes (+1%) by a value of 2.190 million euros (+5%) and the one of fruit situated in 2,8 million euros (+7%) by a value of 1.857 million euros (+7%). For Fepex, the evolution of the export is consequence of the good behaviour of the demand in some big markets, like France, Germany or Russia, with some increasingly sensitive consumers to the advantages that contribute the fruit and vegetables to the maintenance of a healthy and healthy diet.
