The export of fruit and vegetables in April grows 5% in volume and 4% in value

The positive evolution of the export in the month of April has because of the growth of the fruit, so much in volume as in value; you mention that it falls significantly the export of vegetables, being very worrisome, for Fepex, the behaviour of some products, tomato and cucumber, with a strong weight in the production and export of the sector, subjected to one was competition intra and non-EU.
The export of vegetables in April descended 5% in volume and 6% in value, situating in 444.569 tonnes and 370 million euros respectively. The export of tomato descended 18%, totalizando 92.828 tonnes and the one of cucumber reduced 43%, situating in 20.228 tonnes. The Spanish export of fruit in April increased 16% in regard to April of 2011 totalizando 490.040 tonnes, by a value of 501 million euro, 15% more. It stands out the good behaviour of the export of strawberry, with 88.226 tonnes, 30% more than in April of 2011, whereas the value increased 15%, totalizando 142,7 million euros.
In the accumulated January-April of 2012, the Spanish export of fruit and vegetables increased 3,5% in volume, situating in 4,2 million tonnes and 5% in value, totalizando 3.776 million euros. The export of fruit situated in 2,2 million tonnes (+8%) and 1.857 million euros (+7%). The export of vegetables situated in 1,9 million tonnes (-1%) by a value of 1.919 million euros (+3%).
