FEPEX Refuses the new agreement between the EU and Morocco

FEPEX Refuses categorically the agreement reached during this month of September, in Rabat, by the European Commission and Morocco, as which, the country magrebí will be able to increase the export of tomato to the EU during this campaign in 18.081 tonnes. The reason of this rejection is that, according to FEPEX, supposes to do new grantings in a product that already bears the majority of the agricultural grantings that realise to countries third Mediterranean.

For FEPEX, the increase of the volumes of export of Morocco supposes a new hit to the sector tomatero Spanish and repercutirá negatively in the profitability of the exploitations, prejudiced already in previous campaigns, since Morocco has broken traditionally the Association agreement, offer and, in consequence, caused falls generalised of prices.
According to spokesmen of the Spanish Federation of Associations of Exporters of Fruit, Vegetables and Ornamental, the agreement reflects, once again, that the EU practises a politics of discrimination to the fruit and vegetables and repliega to the exigencias Moroccan. For more information:
