49 companies of Murcia participate this year in the fair Fruit Attraction-fruit and vegetables

A total of 49 companies in the sector of fruits and vegetables of the region of Murcia will present their products in Madrid from 20 to 22 October in the second edition of the fair of fruits and vegetables Fruit Attraction. Attending companies are grouped in organizations Proexport, Apoexpa and Amopa, the regulatory Council of the appellation of origin protected PEAR of Jumilla and the Council of organic farming.
This meeting, organised by Ifema and the Spanish Federation of associations of exporting producers of fruit and vegetables (Fepex), with the collaboration of the Ministry of agriculture and water, has a wide representation of the major countries buyers, such as United KingdomGermany, Holland, France and Italy, as well as with representatives of the distribution of China, Mexico and countries of Eastern Europe.
The fair will feature 400 exhibitors in an area of over 11,000 square meters, 50 percent more than last year. In this event the region will present a rich offer of its fruit and vegetables, leaders in the markets for the continuous improvement applied to their products.
With their participation, the murcian companies aim to open up new markets and consolidate the presence of the regional fruit and vegetable sector in the main commercial networks in the world. Fruit Attraction seeks to become a benchmark fair in Europe, to facilitate the internationalization of Spanish companies.
Also, the director of the Murciano Institute of research and agricultural development (Imide), Adrian Martinez, will speak on October 22 in a round table on research in the area of the fruit. In this context it will expose the work carried out the Imide in r & d.
In addition, at the same time develop other activities, like Fruit Fusion, involving the Murcia chefs Jose Carlos Fuentes, the Rural mansion of the silk, and Paul González-Conejero, the restaurant La Cabaña. The first one has been recently awarded chef of the year 2010, while González-Conejero is the chef of the only restaurant in the region with a Michelin star.
