The Committee of Flores and Alive Plants of
Fepex, constituted by representatives of the main autonomous communities producing, analysed the past 9 April, in Madrid, the need of a greater internationalisation of the companies of the sector, as well as the consequences of the change of the type impositivo of the VAT. The Committee analysed the participation of the producing companies and trading companies mainly of alive plant in international fairs that continues growing. In this sense, of the 22 to the 25 January Spanish companies, integrated in Fepex, devoted to the production and export of ornamental plant participated in the international fair IPM of flowers and plants that will celebrate in Essen (Germany). And in the month of February has participated also in the 'Salon du Vegetal', that celebrated in Angers (France).
Nevertheless, the need to improve the internationalisation of the companies is a priority for the sector, since it allows to promote the sector in the main countries addressees of the Spanish exports like France or Germany, and reinforce the commercial activity of the companies. The Spanish participation has the support of the Ministry of Agriculture, Feeding and Environingingment, framed in the agreement signed with FEPEX for the promotion of the production and the quality of the flower and alive plant Spaniard in the vercados international, and that includes the participation of Spanish companies in the international fairs more important of Europe. The Committee, chaired by the president of the Association of Flores, Plants and Horticultural Technology of the Valencian Community, Vicente Peris, analysed also the consequences of the rise of the type impositivo of the VAT in the setor and the performances that is llevar Fepex, standing out the meetings with distinct political groups of the Senate, with the end to table a motion in the field of the Commission of Agriculture of the Senate that allow to urge to the government to a change in the type impositivo of the applicable VAT to the alive plants and products of the floriculture.
The proposal of Fepex is to differentiate the type of VAT applied according to the activity proposing differentiate the sale of plants and flowers without manipulating, with a type impositivo of VAT reduced, and the sale of the floral arrangements by part of the floristerías or companies of decoration, with a type of general VAT, that is applied at present in the majority of countries of the European Union.
