Afespo leads the creation of the European Federation of stairs and assumed its Presidency
on June 10, 2011
The Spanish Manufacturers Association of stairs notebooks (
Afespo), though the smallest of European associations in this sector, has led and successfully completed the Constitution of the European Federation of manufacturers of stairs (ELF).
The idea of setting up this Federation was conceived recently over a year, when the own Afespo, presided over by Joan Server, invited the representatives of the major European associations to a meeting in Cologne, in order to discuss common problems faced by manufacturers of stairs in all European countries.

The Cologne meeting served to define the main objectives which should be a hypothetical European Federation of stairs, being the most prominent: increase the presence of manufacturers in the European commissions; ensure the safety of the users; avoid constant changes to the products; and to avoid unfair competition on the entry of products into Europe.
This is what is pursued through the newly constituted European Federation of stairs (ELF), which will be initially composed of 7 countries (Germany, Spain, France, Holland, England, Italy and Sweden) and presided over by the Afespo.
