December 29, 2009
Architect of one of the landmarks in Spain at the sectoral level, Luis Franco was a precursor in the 1970s the first Union of representatives of the sector of industrial supply and hardware industry. An initiative that was born with the objective to give maximum coverage to the market, and organise the work of marketing of industrial activity, that of DIY, with a projection of future that was already firmly in our country.
The project was undertaken with Jorge Micó Alos, founding partner along with Luis Franco of the Tuflexva society in the early 1980s. As a result of the successful collaboration between both professionals, today Franco and Micó lead the meeting Industrial-REI company with an offer in the most prestigious chains of distribution of DIY and a production which crosses borders, with its export to over 40 countries.
Franco holds positions in key institutions of the DIY sector representatives and member of the Committee of Ironmongery and DIY AECOC, has been Vice President since 1999 ARVET Committee and also served as President until COFEARFE 2009. He currently holds the chairmanship of ARVEFER.
In Eurobrico since the beginning
His association with Feria Valencia and the 'living room professional's DIY' dates back to the origins of the contest as an active member of the Organizing Committee. Since then, their active involvement has significantly contributed to the consolidation of the national reference pageant, as well as its positioning as a leading event in the European trade fair circuit.
Next stop in Valencia: autumn 2010, now international
The Feria Valencia pageant has established itself as reference fair in Spain in the DIY sector. And now, in addition, has just received a new boost through the newly granted recognition of internationality.
It's a distinction granted by the Ministry of industry, trade and tourism, and in particular by the Ministry of tourism and commerce, to those fairs which comply with certain requirements, as you have a number of foreign exhibitors and visitorsheld regularly in at least three previous editions and have an explicit support from the sector.
"His first recognition as an international trade fair is to Eurobrico take a further step in the growth phase in which we find ourselves after having achieved a definite positioning as a leading meeting in Spain", in the words of Alexander Roda, director of Eurobrico.
On the other hand, the organization is already preparing the next edition, which will be in autumn 2010 and which will have as a priority provide "the best and largest sectorial offer". "Will continue with our commitment on parallel activities that provide added value to the showcase and strengthen Eurobrico as inescapable meeting for all professionals in the world of DIY," adds Roda.
