April 8, 2009
Describe the activity of Fastenex, since when there is and what is its objective?
Fastenex is an Association of manufacturers have already 22 years old and that it is set up with the idea of having small and medium-sized manufacturers with a vocation for export, grouping them in order to have a presence on the international markets. With this, the companies that we are in the Consortium are witnessing and are present in almost all countries of the European Community. It is a Department of export and thereby we can rely on the products of each and must take presence in markets to which alone could not have. It is a work that has been done 22 years approximately. Fastenex was created from an idea of the Basque Government to create a few export consortia and is the oldest of Spain at the moment. In the last 6 months we have had two new members, that is to say that the idea is still operating. 5 Companies that in principle we started, we are now 11.

What is the situation in the sector of the screws?
It has traditionally been a sector which has been the first to notice the crisis of the screws. Although on this occasion, has advanced US banking and construction, this crisis will be the deeper and more strange that we have known so far and I do not know what can happen. Now the important thing is to survive, however, adapting ourselves at all times to our processes, market sales, etc.
Honestly, we don't know what will last because it is affecting in a comprehensive manner. Our great competition from the East it also affects them. They say that this situation will end in 2010, we hope to achieve.
What advice give to its partners?
It is very difficult to give advice. It should find the light and keep fighting because it is the only way that we have, adapt to the current situation and reach these dates.
