The production of paper falls a 11.1 % in 2009

In Europe, with an average fall in the production of paper and paperboard of 10.4%, the behavior by country is very diverse. They are the descents of Hungary (27.6%), Romania (20.4%), Finland (19.2%), France (11.4%) and Germany (8.2%). The only European country that increases its production of paper and cardboard is Poland, which grew by 8.4%.
The export of paper and cardboard in Spain down 5.2% and stood at 2.809.800 tonnes and imports (3.323.200 tons) falls even further (- 12.9%). The consumption of paper and cardboard in Spain in 2009 down 14.5%.
On cellulose, 13.5%, in line with the European average is reduced in Spain (- 13.9%), and stood at 1.738.500 tonnes. The consumption of cellulose in Spain in 2009 (1.743.400 tons) down 11.3%.
Spain is the 6th producer role of the EU, behind Germany, Finland, Sweden, Italy and France and ahead of the United Kingdom.
