World-wide specialists in fruit of bone will present novelties on varieties and postharvest in 'Stone Fruit Attraction'

'Stone Fruit Attraction', the day that will celebrate the day 17 October, in Madrid, in the frame of the fair Fruit Attraction, will have the reports of two world-wide experts in fruit of bone: Carlos H. Crisosto, of the University of Davis, in California, and Juan Carlos Zoffoli, of the Catholic University of Chile, those who will analyse the last novelties regarding varieties and technical postharvest mainly. Carlos H. Crisosto Will present the first report of the day that will be on 'Last advances in the technology postharvest for the sendings of long distance of the fruit of bone'.

Crisosto Is director of the Centre of Investigation 'Fruit & Nut' and director associated of the Centre of Technology of Postharvest, both of the University of Davis, California, United States. It is also specialist in technicians of poscosecha in fruit of bone and professor of the department of Science of the Plants of the University of Davis. The second report will run to charge of Juan Carlos Zoffoli, professor of the Department of Fruticultura and Oenology of the Faculty of Agronomy and Forestry Engineering of the Catholic University of Chile. It is recognised specialists in production and new varieties in fruit of bone. His report will title 'commercial technical Analysis of the varieties adapted to the transport of long distance'.

In 'Stone Fruit Attraction' will tackle also appearances related with the healthy and nutritious properties of the fruit of bone in a report that will present the doctor in Biochemicals and Molecular Biology, María Tabernero Urbieta, of the Institute of Investigation of the University Hospital of The Peace, of Madrid. After the reports, 'Stone Fruit Attraction' will include a second part in which they will develop round tables that will have representatives of the European distribution and of third countries.

The day, that will be inaugurated by the secretary of State of Trade, Jaime García-Legaz, has like aim put in value the production of fruit of Spanish bone, standing out some messages like the diversity and variety of the offer, that allow that Spain was the only country of the hemisphere able north to supply from April to November to all the international markets.
