Marlene was born on October 21, 1995 on the initiative of the VOG, the consortium of the cooperatives and vegetables of the Südtirol, in order to disseminate products of affiliated cooperatives and common strengths under a single brand: the high purity of the apples, grown in a region of unspoilt nature, such as the Südtirol, and its constant freshness from the orchard to the store. In few words, guaranteed quality and superior to the other apples.
The VOG Consortium, which are affiliated 17 unions, with a total of 5,600 producing partners, is currently the largest and most important European organisation dedicated to the marketing of apples. It also coordinates centralized organization of cultivation, quality control, logistics and marketing activities, including the dissemination and the promotion of their own products.
