The food industry will invest with ICEX half a million to promote in China and India

The agreement between the two institutions, which has a duration of one year, has been signed by the Executive Vice President of ICEX, Fernando Salazar, and the Secretary general of IFLA, Horacio González Alemán. In addition, they have with the collaboration of the Ministry of environment and Rural and marine environment and various agencies of regional promotion.
Actions designed for this year in China include offers point of sale in the country distribution chains, designed to boost sales of the products already marketed in different markets: Park'nShop (Hong Kong), Super City (Shanghai), Mitsukoshi (Taiwan) and Century Mart (Zhejiang). Also, there will be a promotion aimed at the 'horeca channel' in restaurants and shops gourmet in three cities during the month of September.
In the case of the Indian market, designed activities for the year 2011 include the holding of a third edition of the 'days of food and gastronomy' in Mumbai, to be held in December, with the aim of intensifying the presence in the market and improve the image of Spain in India. Training seminars for Indian chefs in collaboration with the Instituto Cervantes will be also organized.
Looking ahead to next year, ICEX and IFLA considered interesting to watch China and India as "two priority countries at the invitation of buyers at the fair food 2012". In figures, it should be noted that in the first quarter of the year, the value of food exports are still small, declined 73%.
