Ainia organizes a general course of food packaging materials and systems

Of 18 May to 15 July, the technological centre Ainia organises a course on main materials and systems of packaging of foods. The sector of the feeding is a very miscellaneous field in which it is possible to find crowd of products, each one with distinct requests of conservation, what supposes a conditioning regarding packaging. Therefore, it is precise in addition to knowing the changes that a food can suffer, also the provision that the distinct materials offer, because the selection so much of the material as of the typology of optimum container, can minimise the loss of quality of said product. Any type of container, contributes to protect the foods of the pollution by microorganisms, insects and other agents contaminantes. Likewise, the container preserves the form and the texture of the food that contains, avoids that it lose flavour or aroma, prolongs the time of storage and regulates the content of water or humidity of the food. Therefore, the purpose of this course is to provide a general information on the state of the art and the science of the packaging of foods. That is to say, the basic requirements of the foods with regard to the packaging through a study in detail on the main materials and typologies of container used in the manufacturing of containers for foods and his peculiarities (characteristic, classification processes of manufacture associated etc.) and systems of packaging more representative.
New technologies and trends in packaging is concerned will be reviewed in the same way. The course is aimed at professionals and students of the agri-food sector and Allied and its work methodology is based on participation, cooperation and guided learning, through an e-learning platform. Knowledge, the objectives proposed by the active participation in the course with the help of a tutor will be met throughout the year. At the end of each course, there will be a face-to-face class with optional character. She will explore the most relevant aspects of the same and common will be the most important and most significant conclusions in its course. Thanks to the continuous evaluation through questionnaires, tasks, exercises and/or self-evaluations developed along the course, the student will obtain a certificate, provided that it has reached the minimum objectives in terms of work, effort and knowledge. If not so, the student will obtain a certificate which is exclusively accredited its assistance.
