Irta, UdL and Ilerfred, together in the engineering of conservation of vegetal products

The Institute of Investigation and Technology Agroalimentarias (Irta), of the Department of Agriculture of the Government of Catalonia, the University of Lleida (UdL) and the Industrial company Leridana of the Cold (Ilerfred), have signed an agreement to create a conjoint unit of I+ D+i in the field of the engineering of the conservation of vegetal products that will situate in the Fruitcentre, in Lleida.

The purpose of this conjoint unit is the one to develop new equipment and installations for the head offices hortofrutícolas in the fields of the pre-refrigeration and refrigeration of the vegetal products, of the atmospheres controlled and dynamic or in new sensors, equipment and software for the control of the environingingmental conditions and effects of the parameters of conservation on the quality of the products. This conjoint unit wants to tackle also the development of technologies of the information and the communication (TIC) to the service of the follow-up of the state of the installations and of the products, as well as the energetic saving in this type of installations.
