Azti Sets up a contest to international level to discover the alimentary tendencies of the future

Create the first international community of observers in the alimentary field is the first aim of the initiative ‘The Food Mirror', set up by Azti-Tecnalia, technological centre specialised in marine and alimentary investigation, and that has the financials of the Spanish Foundation for the Science and the Technology, Fecyt, and the collaboration of the Basque Agency of Tourism Basquetour-Euskadi. The results of the project will allow to the alimentary companies anticipate to the demands of the consumers of the future and detect prematurely opportunities of business and niches of market in the sector of the feeding and the gastronomy. The initiative has presented today in the evento of The Be Creative, Feeding Consciousness, during the Congress Madrid Fusion.

The promoters of the project look for people of all the corners of the world that are able to detect and transmit solutions to the new tendencies of the feeding that find in his surroundings. To select to the members of the community, that foresees will be formed by some 15 people, has created a contest by internet called ‘The Food Mirror Game'.

The concursantes (‘foodwatchers') of ‘The Food Mirror Game' will have to surpass three phases to arrive to form part of the community of observers. In the first stage, have to show a product, service or initiative that give answer to any of the eight tendencies of feeding detected by Azti-Tecnalia in his EATendencias. The second phase will consist in detecting new tendencies in the alimentary field. In the third, it will be necessary to show the dowries of communication of the applicants, that will send a video in which they will expose the reasons by which want to form part of the international team of ‘foodwatchers'. A jury formed by people related with the feeding from the perspective of the investigation and the communication will determine who are the three winners from among the group of people chosen to form part of the community. The prize for the three better will be a stay of a week all expenses paid in the Euskadi, in which they will live a tourist experience and of learning around the gastronomy and to the feeding from diverse punto: investigation, innovation, gastronomy, autochthonous products, tourism and Basque culture. The prize is promoted by the Basque Agency of Tourism, Basquetour-Euskadi. The agency stands out that “this collaboration fits in the strategy of the Plan of gastronomy set up from the Basque government, as well as in the importance of the cooperation with key entities in gastronomic matter of different sectors of Euskadi as it is, in this case, with the sector agroalimentario and the project that develops Azti-Tecnalia, with international repercussion”.
