HOUSEHOLD GOODS FOR CHILDREN Household goods for the youngest members of the family represent a constantly changing market segment. The requirements in terms of safety, harmlessness, design and educational content are increasing, bearing in mind that these products are aimed at a demanding but vulnerable public. The companies competing in this sector all have a great deal of experience, as these products are subject to demanding regulations and special scrutiny. IS TABLEWARE SUBJECT TO FASHION? The tableware sector is going through a period of transformation, the result of contrasting realities that are, at the same time, a reflection of new social needs. On the one hand, there are elements that up to now have served the purpose of ceramics or porcelain: baskets, boards, casseroles, etc. On the other hand, new uses arise on the table: ice cream is served in mugs, salad in bowls, croquettes in glasses, etc. SECTIONS SMALL HOUSEHOLD APPLIANCE The Small Household Appliance is one of the great allies in our country’s homes. Its consumption is estimated at 1,230 million Euro per year, 35% of which is accounted for by the kitchen appliance. One of the main concerns of the sector is compliance with regulations on waste treatment. HORECA Organised catering establishments have grown by 6.1% in 2018 compared to the previous year, as opposed to the initial forecasts of 4.9%, according to data from the Spanish Catering Yearbook presented by Catering Brands and the consultancy firms KPMG and NPD. This growth is somewhat lower than that of the previous year and will continue in the coming years. TRADE FAIRS HIP 2019 EXCEEDS EXPECTATIONS The third HIP (Horeca Professional Expo), held in February in Madrid, has successfully exceeded all expectations.
