MARKETS NOVELTIES IN FRYING PANS The frying pan continues to be one of the star products in the sector of household goods—the leading item, with millions of units sold annually on our market. There are frying pans for all tastes, with a very wide range of prices, materials, qualities, and designs. After the boom in alternative non-stick coatings, the brand names are now placing the accent on low-fat cooking and on the solidity and quality of their products. PRESSURE-COOKERS: SAFE AND EFFICIENT TECHNOLOGY Highly special ised, and with a l imi ted, but fai thful fol lowing, pressure-cookers are trying to reach new consumer segments, exploring 2.0 technologies, attracting sectors that are more concerned about health or taking advantage of saving time by cooking fast food that is entirely healthy. Saving energy has also become an important selling point these days. FOOD PROCESSORS, A GROWING MARKET The food processor market has diversified with the entry of new models. Nevertheless, the number of brands competing with this product is still small, and it is usually the same companies that diversify their offerings. The high price of these products, the sophisticated technology necessary to develop them, and the presence of a few strong brands have discouraged new firms from making their way onto the market. CUTTING BOARDS, A CLASSIC THAT IS REINVENTING ITSELF Materials are the main way that today’s offerings in cutting boards differentiate themselves. The traditional wooden ones have been joined by new solutions, especially all sorts of plastic and new materials that are distinguished by their hardness (they are resistant to the wear and tear of knives and cutting tools) and their hygiene (bactericidal surfaces, easy to clean, with no nooks and crannies). THE HOSPITALITY SECTOR HOST 2015: SPANISH PARTICIPATION AS A GROUP The Association of Spanish Manufacturers of Hospitality and Group Equipment (AFEHC) has coordinated the group participation of Spanish companies in Host, the International Hospitality Fair in Milan, held in October.
