FuturEnergy | Diciembre 2020-Enero 2021 December 2020-January 2021 www.futurenergyweb.es 63 A fondo: Análisis 2020 | In depth: 2020 Analysis Antes de centrarnos en el análisis de la eficiencia energética en España a lo largo de 2020, me gustaría enmarcar los objetivos energéticos de la Unión Europea para el año 2030, revisados recientemente y habiéndose decidido elevar del 40% al 55% la reducción de emisiones de gases con efecto invernadero en 2030 en relación con el nivel de 1990. Esta será la única manera, según los expertos, de poder alcanzar el objetivo de la neutralidad climática a mediados de siglo. Estamos en un momento en el que tenemos grandes retos por delante, entre ellos la lucha contra el calentamiento global, y para ello esta reducción de emisiones al igual que el consumo de energía son claves. Ante este reto, hace falta apostar por el lema de la UE “Energy Efficiency First” y no dejar que las situaciones derivadas de la crisis sanitaria afecten este objetivo. Por ello, desde ANESE defendemos la capacidad de las ESEs y de su modelo de garantía de ahorros para contribuir a que se logren esos objetivos, teniendo muy presente que una Empresa de Servicios Energéticos proporciona servicios de mejora de la eficiencia energética afrontando cierto riesgo al hacerlo, y que basa el pago de los servicios prestados en la obtención de ahorros energéticos. A pesar de la coyuntura actual, son cada vez más las industrias, los ayuntamientos, las empresas del sector terciario y del sector residencial que confían en la labor de una ESE como un socio experto en energía para optimizar sus consumos energéticos, teniendo en cuenta que el servicio de una ESE aporta mucho más que la referida reducción en costes energéticos a su cliente. Entre sus principales valores diferenciales destacamos el hecho de que una ESE utiliza tecnologías innovadoras que proporcionan eficiencia; incorpora la financiación del proyecto en base a los ahorros; y la propuesta técnico-financiera se recoge en un contrato donde se garantizan los ahorros. Actualmente todos estos sectores encuentran en la ESE al partner necesario para asegurar la optimización del uso energético. En suma, es el compañero de viaje ideal para la transición energética, la cual es y será crucial para la recuperación verde de muchos sectores y de la economía. Además, desde nuestra Asociación, consideramos igualmente que es el momento para que las ESEs y sumodelo de negocio se hagan valer realmente, y que aprovechen la gran oportunidad que representa el PNRR (Plan Nacional de Recuperación y Resiliencia), ya que más del 37% de la inversión irá destinada a esa recuperación verde. Comprometidos con la financiación de la eficiencia energética Y, hablando de inversión verde, aprovecho para subrayar que este año, desde ANESE hemos decidido intensificar nuestro compromiso por la financiación de la eficiencia energética a varios niveles. Nos hemos acercado al sector bancario ayudándole a entender el modelo de servicios energéticos y motivándole a lanzar soluciones específicas para que las ESEs puedanmaterializar de forma más fácil sus proyectos. A raíz de este acercamiento, hemos definido acuerdos de Before focusing on the analysis of energy efficiency in Spain throughout 2020, I would like to highlight the recently reviewed energy objectives of the European Union for 2030, with the decision taken to increase the greenhouse gas emissions reduction by 2030 from 40% to 55%, compared to 1990 levels. Experts agree this is the only way to achieve the climate neutrality target by mid-century. We are at a time in which big challenges lie ahead for us, including the fight against global warming, and for this, reducing both emissions and energy consumption are crucial. Given this challenge, we need to commit to the EU motto “Energy Efficiency First” and not allow the situations arising from the health crisis affect this objective. ANESE is thus defending the ability of the ESCOs and their guaranteed savings model to help achieve these objectives, remembering that an Energy Services Company provides services that improve energy efficiency, assuming a certain level of risk in so doing and basing payment of the services rendered on the energy savings achieved. Despite the current environment, an increasing number of industries, city halls as well as companies in the tertiary and residential sectors are trusting in the work of an ESCO, as an expert energy partner to optimise their energy consumption, realising that the service of an ESCO offers much more than the mentioned reduction in their client’s energy costs. The primary values that set us apart are specifically the fact that an ESCO uses innovative technologies that provide efficiency; incorporates project finance based on the savings; and a technical-financial proposal encapsulated in a contract that guarantees these savings. Today, all these sectors find in the ESCO the partner they need to ensure an optimised energy use. In short, they are the ideal travel companion for the energy transition, which is and will be vital for the green recovery of many sectors as well as the economy. ANESE moreover believes that this is also the time for ESCOs and their business model to be truly recognised and to take advantage of the major opportunity that the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) represents, given that over 37% of the investment is allocated to this green recovery. Committed to financing energy efficiency In terms of green investment, I would like to stress that this year, ANESE has decided to intensify our commitment to financing energy efficiency at several levels.We have approached the banking sector to help them understand the energy services model, encouraging the introduction of specific solutions so that ESCOs can more easily turn their projects into a reality.
