Durante los últimos años, el compromiso con la sostenibilidad y la eficiencia energética ha ido cobrandomayor relevancia en todo tipo de industrias y sectores. Resultado de ello, son las instalaciones de toda índole que cada vez recurren más al uso de renovables, con el objetivo de mejorar su impacto ambiental y disminuir sus costes. El deporte, debido a su capacidad de llegar a gran parte de la sociedad, ha sido siempre un sector pionero a la hora de implementar las últimas novedades, también en materia ambiental. De esta manera, las instalaciones deportivas se convierten igualmente en escenarios idóneos para apostar por un deporte más sostenible. Ejemplo de ello es el Polideportivo San Agustín de Zaragoza que, gracias a la confianza que ha depositado en Veolia, ha conseguido disminuir en más de un 25% su factura y posicionarse como el primer centro deportivo de Aragón en implementar medidas punteras para ser más eficiente. La colaboración entre Veolia y la Asociación Club Deportivo Básico Polideportivo San Agustín de Zaragoza se remonta a 2013. Durante estos siete años han estudiado y llevado a cabo el proceso de transformación de las instalaciones, que ha permitido reducir de manera extraordinaria los niveles contaminantes e invertir en nuevos proyectos gracias a los ahorros que han visto reflejados en los cargos energéticos. Para poder lograr los objetivos, se han implementado una serie de reformas como la sustitución del gasoil por la biomasa en su circuito térmico, la utilización de luces LED en la iluminación de todo el espacio o el empleo de materiales y mantas que retienen el calor en los vasos acuáticos. Además, desde 2018, el centro apuesta por la energía fotovoltaica. Por esa razón, otra de las mejoras realizadas ha sido la instalación de módulos fotovoltaicos por una potencia de 99,6 kWh para autoconsumo, que también ha supuesto una reducción de costes y de alrededor de 5,5 t de CO2 en emisiones en 2019. Todas estas medidas han evitado la emisión de 221,2 t de CO2 en 2019, con miras a que se reduzcan 2.720 mientras dure el contrato. Además, las mejoras ponen de manifiesto la firme apuesta del centro por reducir su factura energética global, lo que se traduce en una oportunidad inédita para apostar con mayor soltura económica en las distintas etapas del proyecto; así como en los servicios al socio y el apoyo a las distintas actividades deportivas. Due to its ability to reach a large proportion of society, sport has traditionally been a pioneering sector when the time comes to implement the latest innovations, also as regards the environment. As such, sports facilities represent ideal scenarios for supporting a more sustainable activity. One example of this is the San Agustín Sports Centre in Zaragoza which, thanks to the trust it has placed inVeolia, has managed to reduce its bill by more than 25% and position itself as the first sports centre in the region of Aragon to implement cutting-edge measures to be more efficient.
