Zero export solution “Zero export” is one of those distinguishing features of the Spanish PV market. This method prevents solar systems from exporting excess power into the grid and guarantees the quality and waveform of the voltage in line with Spanish standards. This zero export solution is a collaborative system involving the R5 Series inverters, the smart meter and the eSolar portal. The smart meter has an indispensable role to play in this solution.With an integrated current transformer, the smart meter is mainly used to measure and display the parameters of the solar system on the electric circuit, helping real time data reading by connecting the R5 inverter via the RS485 communication interface. The user can control and verify the zero export by setting parameters via the eSolar app. 24/7 load consumption monitoring (optional) Thanks to its compatibility with the eSolar portal, the R5 Series can also provide 24/7 load consumption monitoring, which is vital for self-consumption applications. It collects the power data from the system in real time via the meter and sends it to the cloud usingWi-Fi or an Ethernet communication. The daily, monthly and annual consumption and sources of the energy consumed can be viewed via the eSolar portal.
