This complex comprises 119 modern, fully equipped and furnished apartments with a wide range of complementary services and features includes a cafeteria, gymnasium, function rooms, a selfservice laundry and car park. To bring DHW to the extension, which was executed this year, Attica 21 Hotels has chosen the most innovative Japanese technology: the Q-TON heat pump fromMitsubishi Heavy Industries. This is a pioneer in the market as it produces DHW at up to 90°C using the ecological CO2 coolant and Inverter technology. To cover the demand of 1,968 litres/day, a 30 kW Q-TON module has been installed, which heats up 1,500 litres of accumulated water destined for DHW. As regards the installation itself, the Q-TON heat pump is located in a ventilated plant room. This system can be installed both indoors and outdoors, providing greater versatility and flexibility when adapting it to the needs of the establishment. Its reduced footprint makes it the perfect ally for refurbishments or in buildings where available space is at a premium. The unit produces and stores DHW at between 60°C and 90°C, achieving an average COP of 4.62 and, compared with the hotel’s former diesel boilers, an estimated annual economic saving of 46%. The estimated saving in CO2 emissions is 71%. The Q-TON system is monitored, enabling its operation to be controlled on a daily basis and allowing the necessary adjustments to be made in the event that a deviation occurs. This in turn achieves an efficient operation and the saving in consumption for which the system was designed. Maintenance is very simple and basic. To achieve its energy efficiency aims, the hotel decided to install variable flow cooling systems fromMitsubishi Heavy Industries for the HVAC, with indoor KXZ heat pump units to serve the apartments and gymnasium. Plans were also made to optimise the hotel’s air conditioning system resulting in the installation of several units from the manufacturer APARTHOTEL ATTICA 21 VALLÉS EXTENDS ITS INSTALLATIONS WITH THE MOST INNOVATIVE AND ECO-FRIENDLY TECHNOLOGY FOR DHW PRODUCTION Aparthotel Attica 21 Vallés has opted for the Q-TON heat pump from Japanese manufacturer Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, combinedwith an HVAC system from the same company for domestic hot water (DHW) production. Thanks to these high efficiency products fromMitsubishi Heavy Industries, designed to provide the user with the maximum levels of comfort, the Attica 21 hotel chain has found the perfect combination to cover its needs for temperature control, DHW and ventilation from the brand supplied by Lumelco.
