El director general de ITH, Álvaro Carrillo fue el encargado de inaugurar el evento y agradeció a todos los asistentes querer compartir con ITH una fecha tan señalada. Tras su intervención tomó la palabra el Presidente de Honor y fundador de ITH, José Guillermo Díaz Montañés quien agradeció al equipo del Instituto Tecnológico Hotelero y también al apoyo que recibió hace quince años por parte de las instituciones públicas, la Confederación Española de Hoteles y Alojamientos Turísticos (CEHAT), la Asociación de Empresarios Hoteleros de Madrid (AEHM) y la Comunidad de Madrid y a su vez explicó el gran esfuerzo que se ha realizado desde su visión en los inicios hasta llegar a día de hoy. El actual presidente de ITH y CEHAT, Juan Molas, indicó en su intervención que “el turismo español debe abrazar la innovación como filosofía de gestión y apostar decididamente por las nuevas tecnologías para ganar en competitividad dentro y fuera de nuestras fronteras.” Juan Molas también subrayó el importante rol que desarrolla el ITH para la industria hotelera como entidad que trabaja por y para la industria turística en la ardua y útil tarea de detectar las tendencias y las tecnologías que influirán en el futuro del sector para ir agradando el abanico de posibilidades que el sector turístico español dispone. Tras el discurso de Juan Molas, el director general de ITH, Álvaro Carrillo de Albornoz, detalló la entrega de premios a los socios ITH de mayor antigüedad en las cuatro categorías y una mención especial. Los premios recayeron en: • Premio Socio ITH Mención Especial, que fue entregado por el actual presidente de ITH y CEHAT, Juan Molas, al Hotel Wellington. Recogió el premio José Tarín, director del hotel. • Premio Socio ITH Entidad Educativa. El secretario general de ITH y CEHAT, Ramón Estalella, entregó el premio a José Emmanuel Soler, director de operaciones y servicios al estudiante, en representación de Les Roches Marbella, Escuela Superior de Alta Gestión de Hotel. • Premio Socio ITH Tecnológico, que recayó en Robert Bosch España S.L.U. que recibió Vicente Gallardo, Country Sales Director Thermotechnology Division, como representante de la empresa. El premio lo entregó el director general de Turismo de la Comunidad de Madrid, José Ramón Castiñeira Sobrido. • Socio ITH Hotel, que fue entregado por la consejera de Cultura y Turismo de la Comunidad de Madrid, Marta Rivera de la Cruz, y que en este caso tuvo dos agraciados; por un lado, Artiem Fresh People Hotels, que recogió el premio su CEO, José Guillermo Díaz Montañés; y, por otro, Palafox Hotels, siendo la encargada de recoger el premio, María Jesús Fuentes, directora comercial. The Managing Director of ITH, Álvaro Carrillo inaugurated the event, thanking all those present for sharing this landmark date with ITH. After his speech, the Honorary Chair and founder of ITH, José Guillermo Díaz Montañés took the floor, who thanked the team at the Hotel Technological Institute and also the support he received fifteen years ago from public institutions, the Spanish Confederation of Hotels and Tourist Accommodation (CEHAT), the Corporate Association for Hotels in Madrid (AEHM) and the Autonomous Community of Madrid, highlighting the enormous effort that has been made from his initial vision of the organisation to be where it is today. In this speech, the current chair of ITH and CEHAT, Juan Molas, mentioned that “Spanish tourism must embrace innovation as a management philosophy and firmly commit to the new technologies to gain in competitiveness both within and outside Spain.” He also stressed the important role played by the ITH on behalf of the hotel industry as an entity that works for the tourism sector on the arduous but useful task of identifying trends and technologies that influence the future of the sector so that the range of possibilities offered by Spain’s tourism sector can continue to expand. Following this speech from Juan Molas, the Managing Director of ITH, Álvaro Carrillo de Albornoz, set out the four categories of awards and one special mention to be presented to the longeststanding partners of the ITH. The awards were as follows: • The ITH Partner Award Special Mention went to the Hotel Wellington and was presented by the current chair of ITH and CEHAT, Juan Molas.
