The second phase of the project, Bósforo II, came online last March, with a total of four PV plants, each with a capacity of 10 MW: the Jiquilisco plant, in the department of Usulután, in the eastern region of El Salvador; the Santa Ana and Salitrillo plants in the department of Santa Ana; and the Sonsonate plant in the department of the same name. The latter three are all located in the western region of the country. These four plants represent an investment of US$64m and will generate 40 MW of renewable energy. The third phase, Bósforo III, is currently under construction and involves a further three plants situated in the central region, together totalling 30 MW.
