Aquí es donde entra en juego el socio del proyecto EVERYWH2ERE ICLEI Europa y la idea de crear un Grupo de Interés Regiones y Ciudades. ICLEI Europa, que reúne a más de 160 ciudades y regiones de más de 35 países de Europa, Norte de África, Oriente Medio y Asia occidental, forma parte de la red mundial de gobiernos locales y regionales comprometidos con el desarrollo sostenible, por lo que es una opción natural para liderar la configuración del Grupo de Interés de Regiones y Ciudades de EVERYWH2ERE. Como tal, el Grupo de Interés Regiones y Ciudades es visto como una oportunidad para que las ciudades y regiones pioneras no solo prueben y alberguen los grupos de hidrógeno EVERYWH2ERE en un evento temporal en un contexto de su elección, sino que también reciban asesoramiento personalizado, recomendaciones y apoyo de los socios del proyecto EVERYWH2ERE y conecten con autoridades públicas afines. Con Turín (Italia), Kozani (Grecia) y Steinfurt (Alemania) ya incorporados, después del exitoso evento de apertura el 15 de enero de 2019 en Bruselas, el Grupo de Interés está oficialmente listo para cobrar vida estemayo para que las autoridades interesadas se unan. Junto con la gira de demostración planificada que involucra a organizadores privados de festivales, liderada por D1-GREEN Music Initiative, el coordinador de ICLEI Europa para EVERYWH2ERE, Carsten Rothballer, cree que el enfoque de “demostración al mercado”del proyecto tendrá un impacto significativo en cómo se energizarán los eventos temporales del futuro. Después de haber trabajado con ciudades y regiones de toda Europa durante muchos años en temas de recursos sostenibles, clima y resiliencia, EVERYWH2ERE y el Grupo de Interés de Regiones y Ciudades ahora ofrecen excelentes oportunidades prácticas para participar, probar y validar grupos electrógenos de hidrógeno en diversas situaciones para su replicación escalada. Las pilas de combustible pueden reemplazar fácilmente las tecnologías intensivas en carbono como una solución de cero emisiones y ruido para la generación temporal de energía. EVERYWH2ERE es ambicioso para demostrar esto con grupos electrógenos FC “plug and play” fáciles de transportar y una campaña de demostración a gran escala. Desde 2020 hasta 2023, la campaña se propone identificar barreras técnicas y no técnicas y capturar resultados prácticos para el desarrollo de un modelo de negocio, análisis ambiental y logístico totalmente replicable, antes de la comercialización de los grupos electrógenos en 2025. Showing great ambition in bringing down emissions, noise and air pollution levels, it is often not a matter of will, but of resources and know-how for public authorities to identify affordable and suitable sustainable alternatives and solutions for their projects. This is also important when defining requirements supporting green solutions in public tenders. This is where EVERYWH2ERE project partner ICLEI Europe and the idea of setting up a Regions & Cities Interest Group comes into play. Bringing together more than 160 cities and regions from over 35 countries across Europe, North Africa, the Middle East andWest Asia, ICLEI Europe forms part of the world’s leading network of local and regional governments committed to sustainable development, making it a natural choice to lead the set up of the EVERYWH2ERE Regions & Cities Interest Group. As such, the Regions & Cities Interest Group is seen as an opportunity for pioneering cities and regions to not only test and host the EVERYWH2ERE hydrogen gensets at a temporary event in the context of their choosing, but also to receive personalised advice, recommendations and support from the EVERYWH2ERE project partners and to connect with likeminded public authorities. With Turin (Italy), Kozani (Greece) and Steinfurt (Germany) already on board, after the successful opening event on 15 January 2019 in Brussels, the Interest Group is officially set to come to life this May for interested authorities to join. Together with the planned demonstration tour involving private festival organisers, led by D1-GREEN Music Initiative, ICLEI Europe coordinator for EVERYWH2ERE, Carsten Rothballer, believes the “demonstration to market” approach of the project will make a significant impact on how temporary events will be energised in the future. Having worked with cities and regions from across Europe for many years on matters of Sustainable Resources, Climate and Resilience, EVERYWH2ERE and the Regions & Cities Interest Group are now providing excellent, hands-on opportunities to engage, test and validate hydrogen gensets in various situations for scaled-up replication. Fuel cells can easily replace carbon intensive technologies as a zero-noise and zero-emission solution for temporary energy generation. EVERYWH2ERE is ambitious to demonstrate this with easy-to-transport, “plug and play” FC gensets and a largescale demonstration campaign. Running from 2020 to 2023, the campaign sets out to identify technical and non-technical barriers and to capture practical results for the development of a fully replicable business model, environmental and logistic analysis, before the commercialisation of the gensets in 2025. As a result, this EU H2020 project is paving the way for hydrogen solutions and for public and private stakeholders to become the pioneers and leaders of their own change towards an emissions-free future.
