Los primeros 12 municipios a los que llegará la bici eléctrica compartida forman, prácticamente, un continuo urbano. La medida se integra dentro de la batería de iniciativas que lidera el Área Metropolitana de Barcelona (AMB) para reducir la contaminación atmosférica en un área que cuenta con 3,2 millones de habitantes y donde se realizan más de 16 millones de desplazamientos diarios. THE BARCELONA METROPOLIS SUPPORTS SHARED E-BIKES As from next year, the Barcelona metropolis will benefit from a shared public e-bike service, the e-Bicibox, which will connect and facilitate journeys between different municipal districts. This measure forms part of the battery of initiatives headed up by the Metropolitan Area of Barcelona (AMB) to reduce air pollution in an area inhabited by 3.2 million people and in which over 16 million journeys are made every day. Características de la bici eléctrica | Features of the e-bike Las bicis que se ponen a disposición de los usuarios tienen un motor de 250 W y una velocidad limitada a los 25 km/h. Cada unidad tiene una batería de litio extraíble que se carga durante el estacionamiento de la bici en el módulo. Las ruedas, con un diámetro de 24 pulgadas, son de neumáticos macizos para hacerlos más resistentes al uso. El selector del nivel de asistencia eléctrica en la pedalada se adapta a las tres velocidades de que dispone el vehículo. Al ser una bici para uso urbano e interurbano, cuenta con una cesta en la parte delantera y un caballete para estacionar la bici temporalmente. Además el asiento es regulable y antivandálico. The bicycles available to users have a 250Wmotor and a maximum speed of 25 km/h. Each unit has a removable lithium battery which is charged up while the bicycle is parked in the module. The 24” diameter wheels have solid, tyres to make themmore wear-resistant. The electrical assistance level selector on the pedals adjusts to the bike’s three speeds. As this bicycle is for urban and interurban use, it comes with a front basket and a stand for temporary parking. In addition, the seat is adjustable and tamper-proof. De Bicibox a e-Bicibox | From Bicibox to e-Bicibox La apuesta de la bici en la metrópolis Barcelona viene de lejos. En realidad, este nuevo servicio es una ampliación del ya existente Bicibox, que desde 2011 facilita el uso diario de la bici a miles de habitantes. Bicibox es un aparcamiento seguro del AMB para las bicis privadas pensado para ser usado como complemento a los medios de transporte público. Se trata de grandes contenedores en los que los usuarios pueden estacionar sus bicicletas en una plaza individual de uso exclusivo y con puerta cerrada. El servicio ya cuenta con más de 10.000 usuarios y durante el año pasado se aparcaron 283.000 bicicletas en sus más de 150 estaciones repartidas por 19 municipios metropolitanos. Partiendo de la infraestructura ya existente del Bicibox se crea el e-Bicibox, que usa los mismos módulos. A partir de enero, los dos servicios convivirán paralelamente. El primero para cubrir el estacionamiento de bicis privadas y el segundo para las bicis públicas eléctricas de alquiler. The commitment of the Barcelona metropolis to the bicycle is long-standing.
