El acuerdo ya se avanzó el pasado mes de febrero, durante el IV Consejo de Movilidad del AMB, donde se fijó 2018 para la puesta en marcha de esta nueva red de autobús metropolitano de altas prestaciones.Estos servicios se han planificado en los municipios de la primera corona metropolitana, que es dónde actualmente el AMB tiene la titularidad de los servicios de Bus Metropolitano. El área metropolitana de Barcelona engloba el 42,8% de la población total de Cataluña, es decir, unos 3,2 millones de habitantes sobre los 7,5 millones de toda la comunidad. De este total, unos 2,7 millones, que es la suma de la población de los 13 municipios que se beneficiarán de esta nueva red de transporte, tendrán a su disposición el AMB Exprés y el AMB Metrobús. AMB Exprés consta de nueve líneas y prioriza los trayectos más directos con pocas paradas, a diferencia de la red de autobús convencional. Entre sus grandes ventajas está la de mejorar la frecuencia de paso en horas punta, reduciendo así el tiempo de espera en las paradas y obteniendo una velocidad comercial, que también ayudará a llegar más rápido al destino final. Se implantará principalmente en los municipios metropolitanos más alejados de Barcelona, para conectarlos así a la capital catalana. Con este nuevo servicio no se eliminan las líneas ya existentes, sino que constituye un refuerzo con un total de 55 autobuses. AMB Metrobús con 14 líneas de alta frecuencia de paso, se implantará en los principales corredores metropolitanos. Se trata de una flota total de 175 autobuses, muchos de ellos articulados de alta capacidad, que ofrecen un servicio similar al demetro con esperas inferiores a 10 minutos. Este servicio conectará y unirá hospitales de diferentes municipios, zonas comerciales de gran afluencia y puntos de intercambio de transporte de distintosmunicipios del áreametropolitana de Barcelona. Por ejemplo, actualmente para poder ir del Hospital de Moisés Broggi (Sant Joan Despí) al Hospital de Bellvitge (L’Hospitalet de Llobregat), separados unos 10 km, la forma más rápida conlleva coger tres transportes públicos. This involves a total fleet of 175 buses, many of which are articulated, high capacity vehicles, offering a service similar to the metro with waiting times of under 10 minutes. This service will connect hospitals in different municipalities, popular commercial areas and transport interchange points with different districts of the metropolitan area of Barcelona. For example today, to travel the 10 km from the Hospital Moisés Broggi (Sant Joan Despí) to the Hospital de Bellvitge (L’Hospitalet de Llobregat), the quickest journey possible involves using three different forms of public transport.With the new M10, which links these two hospitals, this journey can be undertaken directly, with the consequent time saving for the passenger.
