Jung lleva muchos años ofreciendo soluciones de ahorro energético al mercado. Especialmente para el sector terciario. No se está inventando nada nuevo con la eficiencia energética. Jung aborda principalmente la reducción de consumos en iluminación y en climatización, que son los dos conceptos que consumen más energía en cualquier edificio. También en hoteles. Por un lado, estaría el ahorro energético en habitaciones. Lo que ofrece Jung es la posibilidad de que las temperaturas de la habitación se adapten a las circunstancias de cada momento. No hay que olvidar que por cada grado que se aumenta la temperatura en calefacción, o se reduce en aire acondicionado, se puede estar consumiendo un 7% extra de energía. El otro tema es el control de la iluminación. Los sistemas Jung impiden que las luces se queden encendidas cuando el cliente marcha de la habitación, y facilitan al usuario un uso optimizado de la iluminación mediante la configuración de escenas o apagados centralizados desde pulsadores que se encuentran junto a la cama. Incorporar la tecnología Jung en hoteles puede generar ahorros importantes, aunque difíciles de cuantificar. Generalmente, cuando se reforma un hotel se cambia la iluminación, el sistema de clima e incluso los cerramientos. Estudios teóricos sitúan estos ahorros en un 30% aproximadamente. Pero para saberlo exactamente deberíamos tener dos edificios iguales, construidos uno al lado del otro, donde uno de ellos estuviese dotado de tecnologías Jung y otro no, lo cual no es posible. Otra de las cuestiones importantes es la facilidad o no para implementar estas soluciones en los proyectos de rehabilitación eficiente. Jung dispone de diferentes soluciones, unas son cableadas y otras son inalámbricas. Naturalmente, las soluciones inalámbricas son relativamente sencillas de implementar en cualquier reforma, por superficial que sea. Pero las posibilidades de control están bastante limitadas al control de escenas de luz y poco más. Por el contrario, el sistema cableado, el KNX, es sin duda mucho más indicado para obtener buenos niveles de confort y de ahorro de energía. Se puede hacer un mejor control del edificio, monitorizar consumos, etc. Claro que requiere pasar cableado y eso implica que la reforma deba ser algo más profunda.
