El centro ha obtenido este buen resultado gracias a la puesta en marcha de un ambicioso plan de gestión sostenible que ha llevado a cabo, entre otras acciones, la sustitución del sistema de iluminación del hospital y centros de primaria por tecnología LED, con consumos inferiores a la convencional. Además, también se ha sacado un alto rendimiento a la planta solar térmica del centro con el objetivo de reducir el consumo de gas natural en la generación de agua caliente sanitaria. La optimización de las placas fotovoltaicas ha sido otro factor de ahorro ya que alimentan durante 14 horas al día el consumo equivalente a toda la iluminación del hall principal del hospital. Manises también ha sustituido los sistemas de climatización en los centros de atención primaria con equipos más eficientes con gases refrigerantes que son respetuosos con la capa de ozono. Además, ha instalado un sistema de monitorización en tiempo real de los principales consumos eléctricos de los 22 centros de trabajo distribuidos en las 14 poblaciones a las que da servicio el departamento de salud. Este seguimiento proporciona información de cómo y cuánto consumen estos centros para poder optimizar horarios y consignas de funcionamiento. Así, además de la reducción de la huella de carbono, se ha logrado bajar un 16% el consumo energético global de toda el área. En total, la inversión para esta mejora ha superado los 700.000 €, entre sustitución de equipos e implementación de mejoras. The centre has obtained this good result thanks to the launch of an ambitious sustainable management programme that has been implemented alongside other actions including replacing the lighting system in the hospital and primary care centres with LED technology that consume less than conventional systems. A high level of performance has also been achieved from the centre’s solar thermal plant to reduce the consumption of natural gas in domestic hot water generation. The optimisation of the solar PV panels has been another savings factor as they are able to supply the consumption equivalent to all the lighting for the hospital’s main foyer over the course of 14 hours a day. Manises has also replaced the HVAC systems in its primary care centres with more efficient units that use ozone-friendly refrigerant gases. In addition, a real time monitoring system has been installed to control the main electricity consumption of the 22 working centres that are distributed between the 14 localities served by the health department. This monitoring provides information on how and how much is being consumed by these centres in order to optimise timetables and operating set points. As a result, in addition to reducing its carbon footprint, the overall energy consumption of the area has been brought down by 16%. The total investment for this improvement was more than €700,000 including the replacement units and implementation of improvements.
