Este sistema garantiza la limpieza del 100% de la superficie del colector, incluida la zona central, y la integridad de los espejos, ya que los sensores y el sistema de amortiguación evitan cualquier Professionals from Feniks with over 10 years of experience in the sector have headed up the development of cleaning vehicles through pioneering projects such as PS10, Solnova and Gemasolar, collaborating in the manufacture of more than 85 vehicles with a range of features. These vehicles can be found all over the world under very varied conditions both in terms of the type of plant and as regards the terrain, even operating in desert zones. There are currently vehicles with Feniks technology in Morocco, Algeria, the USA, South Africa and Spain. Feniks’ vehicles have cleaned over 1,215 million m2 of mirrors over the course of the last 10 years. Drako, efficient cleaning for parabolic trough collectors The Drako vehicle is already in service at the Noor I, Bokpoort and Xina plants. This dual purpose vehicle can provide high pressure cleaning or brushing by simply changing the cleaning tool connected to the crane in under one hour. This vehicle incorporates the latest upgrades to the exclusive management software, enabling it to be managed by a single operator, as it automates the positioning and cleaning sequences, facilitating its use by cleaning operatives as their tasks are limited to connecting and disconnecting the equipment and driving the vehicle. This system guarantees 100% cleaning of the collector’s surface, including the central area and the mirrors in their entirety, as the sensors and the shock absorber system avoid any possibility of breakage, identifying broken mirrors and changes in collectors, automatically raising the brushes. All this is controlled and monitored by over 100 sensors distributed all over the vehicle that make the maintenance tasks possible and to detect errors that can reduce performance. The vehicle has a high level of autonomy thanks to its 9 m3 tank. All the cleaning tools are made of aluminium to reduce weight and corrosion. Quixote, the specific model for heliostats For tower plants, Feniks offers its Quixote vehicle, currently in operation at the Atacama I plant in Chile. The large capacity version of this model has a 14m3 water capacity which improves its efficiency as it requires fewer recharges during the working day. This vehicle shares the same constructive base as the Drako, but is equipped with larger size tools that are adapted to the flat surface of the heliostats. Its operational principles are the same, but with innovations including an automatic water cut-off between heliostats and a transport position which enables more flexible manoeuvring. Its speed is limited to 10 kph to ensure that the vehicle’s movement does not kick up dirt. AUTOMATIC, SAFE AND EFFICIENT CLEANING AT CSP PLANTS Vehicles specialist Feniks for the O&M of CSP plants offers an extensive portfolio of vehicles to clean parabolic trough collectors and heliostats, as well as the handling of thermal oil and fire-fighting. Constantly evolving towards the creation of increasingly more efficient products, as a result of its commitment to R&D, the vehicles developed by Feniks feature automation, increased reflectivity, reduced water consumption and higher speed cleaning and manoeuvring. All these advantages will be showcased by Feniks at the upcoming edition of the SolarPaces Conference to take place in Abu Dhabi.
