MAXIMUM ENERGY EFFICIENCY TECHNOLOGY AT THE HOTEL WMEXICO CITY Since its inauguration in 2003, the luxurious hotel W Mexico City has been a place that has combined fashion and design with the leading international and Mexican cosmopolitan cultural trends. Jung has taken part in its recent renovation, introducing products that include its KNX domotic control system and electronic devices from the LS 990 series with an aluminium finish. Thanks to the use of Jung’s advanced KRM TS D thermostats, the W Mexico City achieves maximum energy efficiency in the HVAC department. El edificio original es obra del arquitecto mexicano Luis Bosoms, sobre una superficie de poco más de 1.200 m2. Estratégicamente situado en la zona Polanco, el hotel W Mexico City disfruta de un enclave privilegiado en Ciudad de México, una de las urbes más vibrantes y originales del mundo. Las obras de renovación comenzaron en 2014 y han estado a cargo de un gran y variado elenco de equipos y estudios de arquitectos e interioristas de reconocido prestigio internacional. Destaca, por ejemplo, la remodelación del Living Room Bar con un diseño atrevido y sorprendente, resultado de la visión vanguardista del estudio neoyorquino Nemaworkshop. La segunda etapa de las obras ha correspondido a las 237 habitaciones del hotel, que ahora lucen una decoración totalmente vanguardista, que se adorna además con una serie de fotografías murales del artista mexicano Iván Aguirre. KNX, suntuoso y sostenible El lujo, tanto en las habitaciones como en el resto del hotel, se traduce también en el uso de la más avanzada tecnología. En este sentido, cabe recordar el sólido porfolio de Jung asentado en el estándar industrial KNX, con soluciones para la gestión y el control de la iluminación, climatización, ventilación o seguridad en cualquier tipo de establecimientos hoteleros, desde pequeñas casas rurales hasta edificios completos de habitaciones o apartamentos. The original building is the work of Mexican architect Luis Bosoms and covers a surface area of just over 1,200 m2. Strategically placed in the district of Polanco, the hotel W Mexico City enjoys a privileged position in Mexico City, one of the most vibrant and original conurbations in the world. The renovation works started in 2014 under the supervision of a large and varied cast of teams, architects’ studios and internationally renowned prestigious interior designers. Particularly prominent, for example, is the remodelling of the Living Room Bar with its daring and surprising design, the result of the avant-garde vision of the New York studio, Nemaworkshop. The second phase of the works covered the 237 hotel bedrooms, now resplendent with an avant-garde décor enhanced by a series of mural photographs by Mexican artist Iván Aguirre. KNX, sumptuous and sustainable The luxurious finish of both the bedrooms and the rest of the hotel has also translated into the use of the most advanced technology. In this regard, it is worth mentioning Jung’s sound portfolio based on the KNX industrial standard, with solutions for the management and control of lighting, HVAC, ventilation and security in any type of hotel establishment, from small rural establishments to large hotels and entire apartment blocks. Regardless of the size or orientation of the establishment, the system offers unbeatable levels of comfort at the same time as a high level of efficiency and ease of control for the management. Moreover, it is proving that, via the presence control systems backed up by sunlight, energy savings of 60% in HVAC and lighting can be achieved.
