ACCIONA ha completado las obras de mejora de la Estación Depuradora de Aguas Residuales (EDAR) de Praceres, en Pontevedra (Galicia). Estas actuaciones han permitido a la planta alcanzar una capacidad máxima de 77.760 m³ diarios y atender a una población equivalente de 259.200 habitantes. El objetivo de este contrato era mejorar el rendimiento de la planta de tratamiento de aguas residuales de Praceres para cumplir con los límites de vertido que marca la Directiva 91/271/CEE. La EDAR de Práceres trata las aguas residuales procedentes de los Concellos de Pontevedra, Poio (salvo la zona de Raxó) y Marín, así como parte del Vilaboa y vierte el agua depurada en la Ría de Pontevedra a través de un emisario submarino. Las obras de mejora han consistido en la transformación del tratamiento secundario existente en un tratamiento biológico de lecho móvil (MBBR) y la incorporación de una decantación lamelar lastrada. De esta manera se consigue ampliar la capacidad de tratamientodel reactor con una mínima ampliación del volumen actual. También se ha ampliado y mejorado la línea de fangos, incorporando una nueva línea de espesamiento, mediante tambores rotativos, y de deshidratación mediante centrífugas. Esta obra se enmarca dentro de las actuaciones que la Xunta de Galicia está llevando a cabo para el saneamiento de la Ría de Pontevedra, con el fin de garantizar la recuperación ambiental de las aguas, la productividad marisquera y la actividad turística, y con el objetivo prioritario de cumplir los límites de vertido marcados por la Unión Europea. n ACCIONA has completed renovation work on the Práceres Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) in Pontevedra (Galicia, NW Spain). Subsequent to the upgrading work, the plant now has a treatment capacity of 77.760 m³ per day to serve a population equivalent of 259.200. The aim of this contract was to improve the efficiency of the Práceres WWTP to enable compliance with the discharge limits set out in Directive 91/271/CEE. The Práceres WWTP treats the wastewater from the towns of Pontevedra, Poio (apart from the Raxó area) and Marín, as well as part of Vilaboa, and discharges the treated water into the Pontevedra Estuary through an underwater outfall. The work consisted of converting the existing secondary treatment process through the incorporation of a moving bed biofilm reactor (MBBR) and a ballasted lamella settling process. This has enabled the treatment capacity of the reactor to be increased with a minimal increase in volume. The sludge line has also been extended and optimised, through the incorporation of a new rotary drum thickening process and dewatering in centrifuges.
