Allison Transmission, diseñadora y fabricante líder de soluciones de propulsión, tanto convencionales como eléctricas, y mayor fabricante mundial de transmisiones completamente automáticas para vehículos medianos y pesados y vehículos comerciales y de defensa, comparte la experiencia de la ciudad de París con sus vehículos de recogida de residuos y mantenimiento de calles. El Servicio de Limpieza de París cuenta con 377 vehículos de entre 12 y 26 toneladas, que son principalmente vehículos de recogida de residuos, pero también hay baldeadoras, barredoras y vehículos multiuso. Casi el 100 % de estos vehículos están equipados con cajas de cambios completamente automáticas Allison. Con seis talleres repartidos por todo París y 700 conductores, el Departamento de Medios Mecánicos se encarga de conducir y llevar el mantenimiento de los vehículos de recogida de residuos y limpieza de calles de la ciudad de París, un 50 % de los cuales está subcontratado. “Gracias a esta organización público-privada, tenemos más flexibilidad, logramos los mejores resultados al no dejar de intentar superarnos, gracias a lo cual podemos reaccionar más rápido y nos mantenemos a la vanguardia de la innovación, con maquinaria, prácticas y procedimientos optimizados”, afirma Hervé Piguet,Jefe del Departamento de Compras y Aprovechamiento de Material de la ciudad de París. Ya en 2002 la ciudad de París empezó su conversión energética al optar por el gas natural para reducir su huella de carbono, tanto en sus vehículos propios como en los de sus proveedores. Actualmente, toda la flota utiliza BioGNC. Durante ese tiempo, la ciudad también optó por equipar su flota con transmisiones completamente automáticas Allison, que hoy en día son las que tiene casi el 100 % de los vehículos. Entre 2018 y 2021, la ciudad de París renovó la mitad de su flota, 168 vehículos, y adquirió otros vehículos innovadores, como sus primeras barredoras de succión y baldeadoras a GNC. Todos los vehículos adquiridos para la renovación de la flota estaban equipados con cajas de cambios Allison. “El valor de las transmisiones automáticas Allison para cualquier obra que realizamos es más que evidente.
