También existen metodologías de evaluación y evaluaciones llevadas a cabo con criterio parcial, ya que en la metodología han participado fabricantes de envases, productores o están realizadas por entidades representativas de un determinado material. Desde DríadeSM, siempre hemos querido mantener nuestra independencia y asegurar la neutralidad en nuestras evaluaciones. Por ello, nos hemos asegurado de que tanto en nuestra metodología, como en cada una de las fases del proceso de evaluación, certificación y sello, no intervengan ninguna de estas partes interesadas. Este hecho, nos permite además, dar recomendaciones de mejora reales, ya que no nos encontramos condicionados. Evaluamos además todo tipo de envases, de cualquier material. ¿O se va a crear un examen medida para cada material y así salir bien en la fotografía? Además contar con entidades externas revisoras, como el Gremi de Recuperació de Catalunya y SGS, garantizan la neutralidad las evaluaciones realizadas. Certificable: Toda evaluación que se precie, debería estar firmada por al menos la entidad evaluadora. Una potencial herramienta informática de evaluación de la reciclabilidad sería de utilidad cuando quisiéramos tener una primera aproximación al objeto de evaluación. Pero cuando hablamos de evaluar y certificar la reciclabilidad, la entidad evaluadora debería asegurar y demostrar el resultado de esa evaluación. Por supuesto, nuestras evaluaciones están firmadas. Para nosotros la participación del Gremi de Recuperació De Catalunya ha sido determinante, por varias razones, la primera es asegurar que las evaluaciones se realizan acorde con los procesos de reciclado realmente aplicados en España, que los recuperadores y recicladores han revisado que el proceso tenido en cuenta es el que realmente se realiza para ese tipo de envase. Por otro lado, el GRC es una entidad que aglutina a más de 300 recuperadores y recicladores de todo tipo de productos y materiales (además de ser socia de BIR y EuRIC) , lo que otorga neutralidad, no hay interés de un material sobre otro. Es fundamental el acceso a los recuperadores y recicladores para llevar a cabo pruebas en plantas reales, y la estrecha colaboración del GRC ha sido concluyente. Cuando en DríadeSM realizamos las evaluaciones a los envases, no sólo realizamos un test teórico, cada envase evaluado es sometido a pruebas conforme a sus procesos de reciclado, de esta forma, podemos asegurar la veracidad de los resultados obtenidos. Para nosotros esto es sumamente importante, no sólo para plasmar la realidad, sino que además, esto nos permite ver dónde está realmente el problema y poder así ofrecer a las empresas recomendaciones de mejora reales. Fueron muchos meses de trabajo poder contar con SGS como entidad auditora del proceso, un trabajo que ha merecido la pena, ya que nos obliga día a día a una continuamejora, pero además de contar con SGS como entidad auditora, si las empresas quieren obtener el Certificado de Reciclabilidad emitido por SGS, pueden optar a ello, sometiendo la evaluación y Certificado de DríadeSM a una nueva auditoría. Reciclado de calidad: Por primera vez se incluye la terminología reciclado de calidad, tal y como se está hablando desde la Comisión Europea. A potential computer-based recyclability assessment tool would be useful when making an initial overview of the object being evaluated. But when it comes to evaluating and certifying recyclability, the evaluator must guarantee and demonstrate the result of the evaluation. It goes without saying that our evaluations are endorsed. For us, the participation of the Gremi de Recuperació De Catalunya is decisively important, for several reasons. The first is to ensure that the evaluations are carried out in accordance with the recycling processes actually implemented in Spain, and that the recovery and recycling companies have verified that the process taken into account in the evaluation is the one actually implemented for that type of packaging. Moreover, the GRC is an umbrella organisation for more than 300 recovery companies and recyclers of all kinds of products and materials (as well as being a partner of BIR and EuRIC), meaning that the GRC is impartial and no preference is given to one material over another. Access to recovery companies and recyclers is essential in order to carry out tests in real plants, and the close collaboration of the GRC has been vital in this respect. When we at DríadeSM do packaging evaluations, we do not merely carry out a theoretical test. All packaging evaluated undergoes tests in accordance with the recycling processes implemented, enabling us to guarantee the veracity of the results obtained. For us this is extremely important, not only in terms of capturing the reality, but also to enable us to see where the problem really lies and to be able to offer companies real recommendations for improvement. Many months of work were required to bring SGS on board as the auditing entity for the process. This work has proved to be very worthwhile, as it forces us to improve continuously on a daily basis. In addition to the benefits of having SGS as the auditing entity, companies can also opt to apply for the Recyclability Certificate issued by SGS, thus submitting the DríadeSM evaluation and Certificate to a further audit. High-quality recycling: For the first time, the legislation features the term “high-quality” recycling, as envisaged by the European Commission.
