FuturENVIRO PROYECTOS,TECNOLOGÍAYACTUALIDADMEDIOAMBIENTAL | ENVIRONMENTALPROJECTS,TECHNOLOGYANDNEWS Número 88 • Marzo-Abril 2022 | Issue 88 • March-April 2022 CIRCULAR ECONOMY STRATEGIC PROJECT FOR ECONOMIC RECOVERY AND TRANSFORMATION SEEKS SUSTAINABLE PRODUCTION SYSTEM On March 8, the Spanish Cabinet ratified the Circular Economy Strategic Project for Economic Recovery and Transformation (PERTE), which seeks to meet the targets set out in the Spanish Circular Economy Strategy 2030 and to position Spain as an international benchmark in waste management, recycling and reuse. The project envisages aid packages of €492 million and total investment of over €1,200 million between now and 2026 for the purpose of extending the lifecycle of goods and products and reducing the ecological footprint of the Spanish economy. The aid will promote eco-design, reuse and waste management, as well as digitalisation in the field of business to improve competitiveness and innovation in all sectors. The textile/fashion, plastics and renewable energy associated capital goods sectors are key due to their high waste production rates and the opportunities they afford in terms of recovery. For this reason, the bulk of the subsidies will be concentrated in these sectors. This issue of FuturEnviro includes a special feature on plastics recycling and recovery. The plastics sector is committed to the search for efficient waste recycling and recovery alternatives, due to the high environmental impacts associated with plastic waste abandonment, increasingly demanding recycling targets and the need to satisfy the demand for quality raw materials for the food sector. For these reasons, the PERTE includes measures to encourage eco-design, promote reusable packaging and drive mechanical and chemical recycling. This issue of FuturENVIRO also includes our well established and widely consulted Guide to Stationary and Mobile Primary Shredders, Guide to Eddy Current Separators, Guide to Magnetic Separators and Guide to Optical Sorters. These, simple, practical, comprehensive guides have been updated to outline the main features of the equipment currently offered by the main national and international manufacturers. They are particularly aimed at engineering companies, developers of turnkey recycling plants, provincial, regional and national public authorities, and, ultimately, any entity dedicated to waste management, treatment and recovery. Síguenos en | Follow us on: www.futurenviro.es | Marzo-Abril March-April 2022 5 Esperanza Rico Directora EL PERTE DE ECONOMÍA CIRCULAR APUNTA A UN SISTEMA PRODUCTIVO SOSTENIBLE El Consejo de Ministros del 8 de marzo, aprobaba el Proyecto Estratégico para la Recuperación y Transformación Económica (PERTE) de Economía Circular, un plan que pretende dar cumplimiento a los objetivos contenidos en la Estrategia Española de Economía Circular para el año 2030 y posicionar a España como referente internacional en la gestión, reciclaje y reutilización de residuos. El proyecto fija ayudas de 492 M€ y movilizará recursos superiores a los 1.200 M€ hasta 2026 para alargar el ciclo de vida útil de bienes y productos, y reducir la huella ecológica de la economía española. Las ayudas impulsarán el ecodiseño, la reutilización y gestión de residuos, y la digitalización en el ámbito de la empresa para mejorar la competitividad e innovación del tejido industrial en cualquier sector. Los sectores textil-moda, plástico y bienes de equipo para renovables, son claves por su intensa generación de residuos y por sus oportunidades de valorización y centrarán el grueso de las subvenciones. En este número de FuturEnviro hemos incluido un especial de reciclaje y recuperación de plásticos, ya que el sector del plástico está comprometido con la búsqueda de alternativas eficientes para el reciclaje y la valorización de sus residuos, debido a los elevados impactos medioambientales derivados de su abandono, a las exigencias cada vez más altas en las tasas de reciclado o a la necesidad de satisfacer la demanda de materias primas de calidad para el sector alimentario. Es por esto que el PERTE contempla medidas como fomentar el ecodiseño, promover el impulso de envases reutilizables y potenciar el reciclado mecánico y químico.
