Ciertamente hay el segmento HORECA, que sabemos ha sufrido por el efecto de la pandemia, pero se está recuperando y pensamos tendrá buenos resultados en el futuro porqué cada vez es más consciente de desarrollar prácticas sostenibles, y la calidad del agua es un elemento esencial también en este sector. Como se sabe, una de las vías de negocio de muchas empresas del sector son las licitaciones públicas. AQUA ESPAÑA puede decir que en 2021 hemos ofrecido a nuestros asociados oportunidades de negocio en esta línea por valor de 5.700 M €. Si en 2022 se materializan los fondos europeos en proyectos relacionados con el agua esta cifra debería incluso de aumentar notablemente. Y por lo tanto, esto será más negocio para las empresas, en una actividad de impacto en la calidad de vida y de salud pública de los ciudadanos y en la protección del medio ambiente. Si miramos hacía el 2022, el Barómetro Sectorial AQUA ESPAÑA nos dice que nuestros socios son optimistas para este año entrante. Tres de cada cuatro asociados nos dicen que prevén aumentar la facturación en 2022. Si consideramos que la mayoría ya creció en 2021, este dato es una noticia excelente. Más aún cuando vemos que un tercio de ellos prevén volver a crecer a dos dígitos. Una parte de ellos seguramente tiene expectativas de nuevas inversiones públicas en agua, gracias a la canalización de los fondos europeos que están por llegar, pero estas buenas previsiones no se limitan a esto, porqué muchísimas empresas desarrollan su actividad al margen de las licitaciones y ayudas públicas, por lo que significa que confían en un aumento de la demanda privada, del entorno doméstico, urbano e industrial. Y esto es bueno por qué quiere decir que otros sectores, especialmente industriales, seguirán invirtiendo en sostenibilidad mediante soluciones para optimizar el uso del agua. Un recurso que no olvidemos que es escaso y actualmente sujeto a unas tarifas que muchos profesionales del sector estiman que subirán en el futuro, para garantizar la denominada recuperación de costes. Junto con todo lo anterior, en 2022 se espera la publicación de leyes importantes. AQUA ESPAÑA destacaría dos especialmente, considerando su relevancia e histórico. La primera es la nueva legislación en agua de consumo, como resultado de la trasposición de la Directiva Marco Europea del Agua. Esto creará un nuevo marco legal que mejorará la calidad el agua para los usuarios y a la vez implicará nuevas oportunidades y nuevos retos para las empresas en diferentes aspectos. Como Asociación Empresarial que ha participado activamente con el Ministerio de Sanidad en esta trasposición, estamos seguros de que el nuevomarco legal será positivo y favorezca el desarrollo técnico y económico del sector del agua. Somos un sector creador de puestos de trabajo y de riqueza en este país y debemos cuidarlo. Más considerando el impacto positivo social y medioambiental que generamos. Otra nueva ley que esperamos con atención es el nuevo Real Decreto para la prevención y control de la legionelosis. Tras muchos años de trabajar de manera destacada en este asunto con la autoridad sanitaria española, en este año 2022 tendremos por fin un nuevo the sector. This will mean more business for companies, in a sector with a positive impact on the quality of life, public health and environmental protection. Looking ahead to 2022, the AQUA SPAIN Sector Barometer tells us that our members are optimistic for this coming year. Three out of four members say they expect increases in turnover in 2022. Considering that the majority already enjoyed increased revenues in 2021, this is excellent news. Even more so when we see that a third of them expect to return to double-digit growth. Some of them expect new public investments in water, thanks to allocations from the imminent European funds. However, the positive forecasts are not based solely on this. The business of many lies outside the scope of public procurement and grant aid, which means that they are confident that there will be an increase in private demand, from the domestic, urban and industrial sectors. And this is good news because it means that other sectors, especially industrial sectors, will continue to invest in sustainable solutions aimed at optimising water use. Let us not forget that water is a scarce resource and many professionals in the sector believe water charges will rise in the future in order to guarantee what is known as “cost recovery”. In addition to all of the foregoing, important legislation is expected in 2022. AQUA SPAIN would highlight two laws, due to their relevance and history. The first is the new drinking water legislation arising from the transposition of the European Water Framework Directive. This will create a new legal framework that will improve water quality for users whilst, at the same time, providing new opportunities and new challenges for companies in different areas. As a trade association that has actively participated with the Ministry of Health in this transposition, we are sure that the new legal framework will be positive and will promote the technical and economic development of the water sector. This is a sector that creates jobs and wealth in this country and we must, therefore, take care of it. Even more so considering the positive social and environmental impact generated by the water sector. Another new piece of legislation we are awaiting with interest is the new Royal Decree on the prevention and control of legionellosis. After many years of working prominently on this issue with the Spanish health authorities, we will finally have a new legal framework in 2022 that should bring the rules of the game in line with the current state of the art.
