Los neumáticos llevan 15 años gestionándose de una manera adecuada, reciclándose y destinándose a diversos usos, algunos muy conocidos como suelos de seguridad de parques infantiles, rellenos de césped artificial o carreteras. Aplicaciones ya bastante consolidadas y otras que todavía no lo están tanto, pero desde SIGNUS continuamos en la búsqueda constante de nuevos usos para estos materiales y para ello, se destinan importantes recursos económicos y humanos que tienen el claro objetivo de buscar nuevos usos para los materiales procedentes de los neumáticos fuera de uso. De estos proyectos, hay algunos cuyos resultados no son los esperados, pero muchos otros arrojan resultados que permiten ver el neumático reciclado como un interesante material con características técnicas que mejoran las características del producto fabricado, además de emplear unmaterial sostenible que evita el uso de otras materias primas procedentes de la naturaleza. En este punto, nos vamos a detener. Llevamos años escuchando como a mitad del año llegamos a Overshoot day (lo que quiere decir, que a partir de esa fecha, la humanidad habrá consumido el conjunto de los recursos que el planeta puede renovar en un año ) y estamos siendo incapaces de que este día se acerque más al final de año, esto significa que en el mundo estamos utilizando los recursos naturales de un año y medio y no estamos ajustándonos a lo que tenemos en el año. Este crédito para a obligarnos a pagar unos intereses muy altos. SIGNUS trabaja en esta línea, tratando de dar valor a los materiales reciclados procedentes de los neumáticos fuera de uso, pero la respuesta de empresas y Administración, a veces no es la esperada. Hay que potenciar mucho más el uso de materiales reciclados y a crear instrumentos financieros que ayuden a que esto sea posible a través de incentivos o ventajas fiscales que favorezcan el interés del uso de este tipo de materiales. Si nos centramos en las empresas, la búsqueda de materiales reutilizados, reutilizables, reciclados o reciclables que garanticen la calidad de sus productos es cada vez mayor, pero para ello es necesario también poder garantizar la calidad de estos materiales para que los productos que se fabriquen puedan ser duraderos y, sobre todo competitivos en el mercado. Uno de los usos que tienen los neumáticos reciclados es en el mundo de la moda, sobre todo en bolsos, calzado y otros accesorios, pero siempre de una manera evidente que no dejaba de darle a las piezas un punto de rudeza, el propio de los neumáticos, pero en un momento dado, vimos la oportunidad de dar una nueva vuelta de tuerca tratando de convertir esa rudeza en algo bello. Esto dio lugar, tras varios años trabajando en incorporar al neumático reciclado en el mundo de la moda y del lifestyle, en una plataforma de información llamada Neomatique, un proyecto impulsado por SIGNUS, entidad sin ánimo de lucro responsable de la gestión de Neumáticos Fuera de Uso (NFU), en colaboración con Slow Fashion Next, empresa de referencia en formación de moda sostenible. Esta alianza, de la que ha surgido el proyecto neomatique, ha ido incorporando a diferentes empresas y laboratorios de innovación que se Neomatique is a platform born from collaboration between two entities, SIGNUS and Slow Fashion Next. Some of the projects undertaken do not produce the results hoped for, but many others provide results that allow us to see recycled tyres as a material of interest, with technical characteristics that improve the characteristics of manufactured products, in addition to being a sustainable material that eliminates the need to extract other raw materials from nature. At this point, let us pause and reflect. We have been hearing for years that Earth Overshoot Day (the day in a given year when humanity has consumed all the resources that the planet is capable of renewing in a single year) occurs in the middle of the year and that we have been incapable of putting this day back until nearer the year end. This means the world is not adjusting consumption to what can be renewed and is, in fact, consuming the natural resources of a year and a half in a single year. And we are being forced to pay very high interest rates on this loan. SIGNUS is striving to give value to recycled materials from endof-life tyres, but the response from companies and the public authorities is sometimes not as we would hope. The use of recycled materials needs to be promoted far more intensively and financial instruments, in the form of tax incentives or benefits, need to be put in place to encourage the use of this type of material. Companies are intensifying the search for reused, reusable, recycled or recyclable materials that guarantee the quality of their products, but this also makes it necessary to be able to guarantee the quality of these materials so that the products manufactured with them are durable and, above all, competitive in the marketplace. One use of recycled tyres is in the world of fashion, especially in bags, footwear and other accessories. But this has always been done in an obvious way that gives the items a rather crude touch, a touch very reminiscent of tyres. But then we perceived the opportunity to turn things around and transform that crudeness into something beautiful. Several years of work on incorporating recycled tyres into the world of fashion and lifestyle has given rise to an information platform called Neomatique. Neomatique is a project promoted by SIGNUS, a nonprofit organisation responsible for the management of end-of-life tyres, in collaboration with Slow Fashion Next, a leader in sustainable fashion training.
