The project to upgrade the El Campello plant has been undertaken thanks to FCC, the current operator of the facilities. This complex has the capacity to process and recover the waste generated in the municipalities that form part of the Consorcio para la Ejecución de las Previsiones del Plan Zonal de Residuos 6, Área de Gestión A1 (Consortium for the Execution of Waste Zoning Plan 6, Management Area A1). The plant specifically treats waste from the collection of the rest or all-inone fraction. The facilities are designed to enable recoverable materials to be availed of through the implementation of the best available treatment and separation technologies, with the aim of contributing to the circular economy and reducing environmental impact. FCC, the company responsible for the design and operation of these installations, placed its trust in Pellenc ST technology, not only because Pellenc ST has the best separation technology on the market, but also because of the company’s status as the leading provider of technical service in Spain and its flexibility in adapting to the specific circumstances and requirements of each case. FCC installed 4 Mistral Compact optical sorters for the separation of the different materials in the packaging waste and rest fraction lines. These machines are equipped with technology for material separation by type. Not only can they separate materials such as PET and HDPE, but they also have the capacity to identify and separate more complex materials such as technical plastics and multilayer plastics, including bottles, trays and films. The Mistral Compact equipment was chosen due to the greater flexibility it affords for installation and use in small or complicated spaces. In addition to being more flexible and compact, Mistral Compact units have the same sorting capacity as Mistral+ optical sorters, given that they share the same technology and the same components for detection, processing and separation of the different materials. Once installed and commissioned, the added value of the Pellenc ST machines lies in the fact that they are equipped with Smart and Share, a dedicated tool which provides the operator with pre-analysed data. Together with smart alerts and reports/ meetings, this enables the operator to maintain or enhance the efficiency of selection processes. It should be noted that all of the information recorded by Mistral Compact models is compliant with ISO 27001 IT security standards, thus ensuring data confidentiality. All Pellenc ST machines are designed with the future in mind. They can be retrofitted with new or complementary sensors to enable more efficient materials sorting and technology upgrades, thus extending the service life of the equipment. Las instalaciones están diseñadas para aprovechar los materiales recuperables contando con las mejores tecnologías disponibles de tratamiento y separación, con el objetivo de contribuir con la economía circular y disminuir el impacto medioambiental. FCC responsable del diseño y explotación de estas instalaciones confió en la tecnología de Pellenc ST, no solo fue porque Pellenc ST posee la mejor tecnología de separación del mercado sino también por ser el líder en servicio técnico en España y por la flexibilidad para adaptarse a las circunstancias y exigencias para cada caso. Para la selección de los diferentes materiales en las líneas de residuos de envase y resto, FCC instaló 4 equipos, 4 separadores ópticos modeloMistral Compact. Estos equipos están equipados con la tecnología de separación por tipo de material, igualmente no solo separan materiales como el PET y PEAD, sino que también estos equipos son capaces de reconocer y separar materiales más complejos como plásticos técnicos y multicapas, a su vez dentro de las multicapas, los envases de botellas, bandejas y films. La elección de los equipos Mistral Compact fue dada por la mayor flexibilidad para su colocación y utilización en espacios reducidos o complicados, por supuesto los equipos Mistral Compact, aunque son más flexibles y compactos cuentan con la misma capacidad selección ya que comparten la tecnología con los separadores ópticos modelo Mistral+, además de los componentes de detección, procesamiento y separación de los diferentes materiales. Una vez puesta en marcha la instalación, el valor añadido de las máquinas de Pellenc ST, es que cuentan con Smart and Share, una herramienta dedicada, que proporciona al explotador los datos ya analizados, que junto con las alertas inteligentes y los informes/reuniones hace que junto con el explotador se puedan mantener o mejorar los rendimientos de los procesos de selección. Cabe destacar que toda la información que registran las modelos Mistral Compact están bajo la ISO 27001 de seguridad informática, asegurando así la confidenfiabilidad de estos datos.
