En la confluencia de los ríos Ebro y Segre, su tierra fértil da pie a una zona regable de cultivo cuyo proyecto de ampliación y modernización contempla la puesta en regadío de 1.362,49 hectáreas que se suman a las 1.534 ha de la zona 1, y que se encuentran prácticamente en su totalidad en producción. Durante los últimos meses del 2019 y primeros del 2020, desde Saint-Gobain PAM España se suministraron aproximadamente 5 km de su conocida tubería verde marca Irrigal® BioZinalium® DN400 C30 como alternativa de calidad sostenible y con garantía de durabilidad en tres ramales de la red de riego. Unas mayores prestaciones mecánicas de la tubería de fundición dúctil PAM Irrigal®, un exhaustivo control y determinación de los ensayos propios del material según normativa UNE-EN 545 e ISO 2531 y una experiencia centenaria con garantía de resistencia y empleabilidad de las tuberías de fundición dúctil de más de cien años, determinaron el cambio de material en estos tres ramales afectados. Esta actuación ha contado con la tubería de color verde PAM Irrigal®, con su innovador y más avanzado revestimiento exterior BioZinalium® compuesto por una capa de aleación zinc-aluminio 85-15 enriquecida con cobre, más una segunda capa de acabado Aquacoat® semi-permeable de naturaleza acrílica que le otorga a las tuberías de fundición dúctil Saint-Gobain PAM una gran vida útil, así como un compromiso real con el desarrollo sostenible, debido a que la capa Aquacoat® está libre de BPA (Bisphenol A) y COV (Compuestos Orgánicos Volátiles). Una propicia orografía del terreno y la gran desviación angular disponible en la tubería PAM IRRIGAL® (hasta 4º en DN600 mm gracias a su unión automática flexible a través de junta STANDARD en EPDM de calidad alimentaria) han sido fundamentales en esta obra para garantizar los cambios de dirección con el menor número de piezas requerido. Prestaciones mecánicas elevadas, gran versatilidad de las uniones, empleo de material reciclado en la fabricación así como la reciclabilidad de las propias tuberías una vez cumplidas su gran vida útil, hacen de la elección de las soluciones en fundición dúctil de Saint-Gobain PAM España la mejor garantía de ejecución sostenible -en compromiso con una economía circular- para cualquier obra de canalización hidráulica. The irrigation systems of the fertile lands where the Ebro and Segre rivers meet are currently undergoing an extension and modernisation process that will add 1,362.49 hectares of arable land to the 1,534 hectares of Zone 1, which are now practically all being cultivated. The enhanced mechanical properties of PAM Irrigal® ductile iron pipes, exhaustive control, proprietary, in-house material testing in accordance with the UNE-EN 545 and ISO 2531 standards, the company’s experience and the guarantee of the resistance and service life of the pipes over a period of 100 years were decisive factors in the decision to opt for these pipes in the three branch lines in question. The distinctive green-coloured PAM Irrigal® pipe with the innovative, advanced BioZinalium® outer coating was chosen for this project. This coating is composed of an 85-15 zinc-aluminium alloy layer and a second Aquacoat® semi-permeable, acrylic outer layer. The Aquacoat® layer provides Saint-Gobain PAM pipes with a long service life, whilst demonstrating the company’s firm commitment to sustainable development, bearing in mind that the coating is free of Bisphenol A (BPA) and Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs). The suitability of the terrain and the great angular deviation available in the PAM IRRIGAL® pipe range (up to 4º in DN600 mm thanks to the automatic flexible EPDM STANDARD joint, certified for use with food products) were of vital importance in this project to enable changes of direction with the fewest possible number of components. Outstanding mechanical properties, unrivalled pipe-joint versatility, the use of recycled materials in production processes and the recyclability of the pipes themselves mean that SaintGobain PAM España ductile iron piping solutions provide the greatest guarantee of sustainable installation in line with the circular economy for any water infrastructure project.
