Para garantizar esta contención segura en el Vertedero de Rechazos del CMR de Loeches se ha recurrido a un sistema de impermeabilización multicapa tal como se recoge en el RD 1481 y en la UNE 104425 combinando un estrato de material natural impermeable con diferentes geosintéticos: • 20.000 m2 barrera impermeable secundaria – geocompuesto de bentonita • 100.000m2 barrera impermeable principal – geomembrana PEAD • 250.000 m2 protección antipunzonamiento, filtro y separación – geotextiles no tejidos de polipropileno. • 20.000 m2 drenaje de lixiviados – geocompuestos de drenaje formados por una malla de PEAD con geotextiles filtro en ambas caras. En la elección de estos materiales se ha recurrido a las mejores tecnologías disponibles en el mercado sin limitarse a cumplir estrictamente los mínimos establecidos por normativa, buscando siempre aumentar la seguridad y eficiencia del sistema, siguiendo unos estrictos procedimientos de colocación y adaptando detalles constructivos a las características únicas del proyecto. El desarrollo continuo es una obligación, y sólo se consigue con un equipo técnico altamente cualificado capaz de valorar adecuadamente las necesidades, acciones y riesgos para utilizar en cada caso las tecnologías más adecuadas en base a los conocimientos adquiridos a lo largo de muchas experiencias. Secure containment means environmental protection. The absence of such containment means tackling the effects of pollution and attempting to mitigate them without being able to return the environment to its original state. There is no way back. A multilayer impermeable system compliant with Royal Decree 1481 and the UNE 104425 Standard was implemented to guarantee secure containment at the Loeches CMR Reject Landfill. This system combines a structure made of naturally impermeable material with different geosynthetics: • 20,000 m2 secondary impermeable barrier – bentonite geocompound • 100,000 m2 main impermeable barrier – HDPE geomembrane • 250,000 m2 protection against shear forces, filter and separation – non-woven polypropylene geotextiles. • 20,000 m2 leachate drainage – drainage geocompounds composed of a HDPE mesh with geotextile filter cloths on both sides. The selection of these materials was based on the best available technologies in the market and not on mere compliance with the minimum requirements set out in legislation. The goal was to optimise the security and efficiency of the system by following stringent installation procedures and adapting construction details to the unique characteristics of the project. Ongoing development is a must and can only be achieved with a highly qualified technical team capable of properly evaluating needs, actions and risks in order to enable the implementation of the most appropriate technologies in every case, based on the know-how and expertise acquired with years of experience.
