para obtener biorrecursos de alto valor a partir de aguas residuales urbanas o de la fracción orgánica de residuos sólidos urbanos. El desarrollo de las asistencias técnicas se traducirá, al cabo de los cuatro años de su implementación, en inversiones estimadas en 51,7 millones de euros en proyectos de bioeconomía urbana en las ciudades y regiones participantes. Murcia (España), Münster (Alemania), Región de Macedonia Occidental (Grecia), Oporto (Portugal), Albano-Lazio (Italia), Almere (Países Bajos), Bergen (Noruega) y Kuopio (Finlandia), son las ciudades y regiones elegidas para el desarrollo de este ambicioso proyecto. Estas ciudades y regiones representan la diversidad geográfica, socioeconómica y climática de Europa y servirán de modelo para el resto de ciudades europeas que deseen replicar estos esquemas de circularidad urbana. De esta manera, HOOP busca ofrecer soluciones a medida para cada tipo de ciudad o región, potenciando las tecnologías, los modelos de negocio y las estrategias de circularidad que más se adecúen a sus características. Para facilitar la capitalización de los resultados, el proyecto contempla el desarrollo de herramientas para transferir los modelos y experiencias desarrollados en las ciudades o regiones faro a una red de ciudades follower compuesta por aquellas ciudades que muestren su interés por participar en las acciones e intercambio de buenas prácticas del proyecto. De esta manera, además de promover inversiones y apoyar la implementación de proyectos de bioeconomía urbana, HOOP contribuirá a crear una red europea de ciudades y regiones circulares, incrementar el reciclaje de biorresiduos urbanos y aguas residuales, crear puestos de trabajo y revitalizar la economía a escala local o regional. Con la coordinación de HOOP y VALUEWASTE CETENMA afianza su trayectoria en el ámbito de la valorización de residuos y se posiciona como referente y actor clave en el impulso de la bioeconomía urbana en Europa. This project, coordinated by CETENMA, was the only one of its type selected for funding within the EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation (Horizon 2020). In addition, it comes within the framework of the EU Circular Cities and Regions Initiative (CCRI), which promotes the implementation of circular solutions at local and regional level as part of the new Circular Economy Action Plan, a key element of the European Green Deal. Th goal of HOOP is to provide technical assistance to eight lighthouse cities and regions, with a view to satisfying administrative, technical, economic, financial and legal requirements to enable them to drive investment and bioeconomy initiatives at local level in order to obtain high-value bioresources from urban wastewater or the organic fraction of municipal solid waste. The provision of technical assistance will, after four years of implementation, result in estimated investment of 51.7 million euro in urban bioeconomy projects in participating cities and regions. In order to facilitate the capitalisation of project results, tools will be developed for the transfer of the models and experiences of the lighthouse cities or regions to a network of follower cities, which will be made up of cities which show interest in participating in the actions and exchange of good practices envisaged within the framework of the project. In this way, apart from promoting investment and supporting the implementation of urban bioeconomy projects, HOOP will contribute to: creating a European network of circular cities and regions, increasing the recycling rate for urban biowaste and wastewater, creating jobs, and revitalising local and regional economies. Through the coordination of HOOP and VALUEWASTE, CETENMA has consolidated its track record in the area of waste recovery and has positioned itself as a leading actor in driving the urban bioeconomy in Europe.
