Sostenibilidad en los servicios Si la tecnología y la transparencia deben ser 2 ejes indiscutibles en la gestión del parque de contenedores, la sostenibilidad y la especialización proporcionarán el equilibrio perfecto al modelo de gestión que ya está aquí. Los objetivos de desarrollo sostenible de las Naciones Unidas se fundamentan en conseguir ciudades e industrias más sostenibles e inclusivas. Entre sus metas se incluyen reducir el impacto ambiental negativo prestando especial atención a la calidad del aire y la gestión de los residuos y promover la adopción de tecnologías y procesos industriales más eficaces, limpios y racionales. Por tanto, las empresas fabricantes y de servicios debemos alinearnos para alcanzar estos objetivos de manera progresiva y consciente con el uso de vehículos y herramientas eléctricas que nos permitan efectuar los trabajos con movilidad silenciosa y respetuosa con el medio ambiente. Nuestra responsabilidad debe pasar por conseguir un impacto cero, reduciendo la huella de carbono de nuestros productos y optimizando trayectos y frecuencias en los desplazamientos durante la prestación de los servicios. Esta indudable sofisticación de los contenedores, junto a la incorporación de diversa tipología de sensores y controles de acceso nos dirige a un nuevo paradigma donde la intervención del fabricante en el mantenimiento del parque será, si cabe, aún más relevante y necesaria. Alargar la vida útil de los recipientes ofreciendo una imagen premium requerirá de medios técnicos de última generación y un capital humano bien dimensionado. Sólo un fabricante puede proporcionar y aplicar el know-how necesario para salvaguardar la funcionalidad de los recipientes, preservando su estética, gracias a la utilización de repuestos originales y a su profundo conocimiento del comportamiento de los materiales a medio y largo plazo. Todo ello en aras de garantizar una amortización de la inversión municipal más eficiente. It also allows us to manage electronic locks installed in containers to check if container covers are functioning correctly, as well as providing information on times, users, etc. Moreover, thanks to the geolocation of containers and vehicles, if a fault is detected, we can determine the location of the nearest team, which can then be sent to carry out the repair work. This is, therefore, a real-time working system which, in many cases, will help to anticipate problems to facilitate proactive solutions. The system will become essential because it will provide benefits for companies in terms of more effective resource management. It will provide public authorities with proof of compliance with public service contracts and will enable citizens to verify that their demands have been met. Sustainability in services If technology and transparency must of force be two indisputable pillars of managing container resources, sustainability and specialisation will provide the perfect balance to the new management model, which is already here. The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals are based on achieving more sustainable and inclusive cities and industries. The objectives include reducing negative environmental impacts, with special emphasis on air quality and waste management, and promoting the adoption of cleaner, more effective and more rational technologies and industrial processes. Manufacturers and service companies must be committed to achieving these goals progressively and consciously, through the use of electric vehicles and tools that enable us to carry out work with silent and eco-friendly mobility. Our responsibility is to achieve zero impact, reduce the carbon footprint of our products, and optimise routes and frequency of trips in the provision of services. This unquestionable sophistication of containers, along with the incorporation of different types of sensors and access controls is leading us to a new model in which the involvement of the manufacturer in the maintenance of the resources deployed will become even more relevant and necessary. Extending the service life of containers and offering a premium image will require leading-edge technical resources and well-sized human capital. Only a manufacturer can provide and implement the knowhow necessary to safeguard the functionality of containers and preserve their aesthetics, thanks to the use of original parts and deep knowledge of the behaviour of the materials in the medium and long term. And the aim is always the same, i.e., to ensure the maximum return possible on municipal investment. If we all pull in the same direction in the coming years and strive to implement the TSST management model, with its four pillars as non-negotiable benchmarks, there is no doubt that we will transform cities into more pleasant places and contribute to citizen satisfaction and participation in waste separation, whilst offering an image of efficiency, progressiveness and sophistication that will highlight the excellent work of public authorities and businesses.
