SUEZ España y Medi XXI GSA desarrollarán de forma conjunta proyectos de defensa contra incendios forestales de zonas pobladas mediante el aprovechamiento de agua regenerada procedente de los propios núcleos de población. Este reciclaje de agua permitirá dotar de recurso hídrico para la prevención de incendios, incluso en zonas que puedan estar expuestas a periodos de sequía. Este agua se destinará a la creación de cortafuegos verdes mediante la aplicación de riegos prescritos cuyo objetivo será generar áreas de protección de alto valor ambiental y paisajístico alrededor de zonas vulnerables al fuego, favoreciendo, además, la fijación de gases de efecto invernadero, reduciendo la temperatura, protegiendo el suelo de la erosión y favoreciendo la infiltración de agua a los acuíferos. Según el acuerdo de colaboración, SUEZ España aporta su experiencia en el diseño e implementación de soluciones para la optimización en la gestión de recursos, su equipo técnico de primer nivel con casi 11.000 profesionales, sus iniciativas relacionadas con la economía circular y una implantación territorial que permitirá al consorcio prestar servicio en toda España. Por su parte, Medi XXI GSA aporta su SIstema de DEfensa contra INcendios FOrestales SIDEINFO®, patentado por la micro-pyme valenciana de Carcaixent, y el conocimiento específico en materia de prevención y autoprotección contra incendios forestales y mitigación de los efectos de la emergencia climática adquirido a través de más de 600 proyectos durante sus 20 años de actividad en el sector de la ingeniería ambiental. SUEZ España and Medi XXI GSA will carry out joint projects to protect populated areas from forest fires, using reclaimed water from the population centres themselves. Recycling this water will provide a water resource for fire prevention, even in areas potentially exposed to periods of drought. This water will be used for the creation of green firebreaks through the application of prescribed irrigation. The objective is to create protective areas of high environmental and scenic value around areas susceptible to fire, whilst also contributing to greenhouse gas sequestration, reducing temperatures, protecting against soil erosion and facilitating the infiltration of water to recharge aquifers. Under the terms of the collaboration agreement, SUEZ España will contribute its expertise in the design and implementation of resource management optimisation, its first-class technical team composed of almost 11,000 professionals, its circulareconomy-related initiatives and a nationwide presence that will enable the consortium to provide services throughout Spain. Medi XXI GSA will provide its SIstema de DEfensa contra INcendios FOrestales SIDEINFO® forest fire protection system, patented by the micro-SME based in Carcaixent (Valencia), and its specific know-how in the area of forest fire prevention and protection, as well as its experience in the mitigation of the effects of climate emergency, gained in more than 600 projects carried out over the 20 years it has been operating in the environmental engineering sector.
