El desgaste es inherente al material, eso está claro. Pero también está claro que no todos los equipos se comportan igual. La herramienta adecuada debe poder sacar el máximo partido a cada gramo de desgaste. Pero también debe ser fácil, y barato, y rápido de reemplazarse. Soldar in situ no debería ser la opción ideal para reponer el desgaste frecuente, y menos en un equipo que trabaja rodeado de madera, polvo y residuos. Igualmente, es imposible garantizar el mismo desempeño el día que se estrenan martillos, y el día que estos se van a cambiar; pero la herramienta ideal debe poder ajustarse, y que el desempeño cuando los elementos de desgaste están a media vida, o en su tercio final, sea lo más parecido posible a los del día de su estreno. Josef y Wernner no siempre fueron constructores de máquinas; en sus orígenes, eran prestadores de servicios, y trabajaban como contratistas para el ámbito agrícola, y para un incipiente mercado del medio ambiente y el reciclaje. Durante casi veinte años, cada máquina que diseñaron y construyeron fue para usarla, no para venderla. Por eso, cada detalle de cada máquina Doppstadt está pensado desde el punto de vista de quien la opera; de quien la mantiene; y sobre todo, de quien la rentabiliza. Nunca quisieron construir la máquina más barata. Su meta era distinta: Construir la máquina más rentable para cada trabajo. Por eso, hace veinticinco años, con la primera DW, y hoy, con los equipos estáticos de la serie Ceron, y los equipos móviles de las series Metheor e Inventhor, los trituradores primarios de Doppstadt siguen siendo la mejor opción. La idea principal, de un rotor en acoplamiento directo, girando a bajas revoluciones contra un peine de corte con ajuste hidráulico, con un sistema que “libera” el peine de corte si un intriturable llega al compartimento de trituración, sigue siendo la misma. Veinticinco años después, más de dos mil equipos móviles de la serie DW han visto la luz. Algunos, veinticinco años después, y con miles de horas en servicio, aún siguen funcionando, y haciendo ganar dinero a sus propietarios. Durante mucho tiempo se dijo que Doppstadt había encontrado su “zona de confort”. Es posible. También es posible que con un parque móvil escasamente renovado durante los últimos doce años, desde la crisis de 2008, innovaciones como el “limiter system” (el mejor sistema de selección de tamaño existente para un triturador primario) o los ejes de trituración con distintos tamaños de diente (S, M y XL) han pasado desapercibidos para el mercado español. En cualquier caso, Doppstadt recogió el guante. En la IFAT de 2018 Doppstadt presentó la Inventhor Type 9, y volvió a cambiar las cosas. They never wanted to build the cheapest machine. Their goal was to build the most cost-effective machine for each and every job. 25 years ago, with the first DW, and today, with Ceron Series static units, and mobile shredders from the Metheor and Inventhor Series, Doppstadt preshredders continue to be the best option. The main principle, that of a directly coupled rotor rotating at low rpm against a hydraulic shredding comb, with a system that “releases” the shredding comb if unshreddable items enter the shredding chamber, remains unchanged. 25 years later, over 2,000 DW Series mobile units have been produced. 25 years later, some of these machines, with thousands of service hours under their belts, continue to operate and earn money for their owners. For a long time, it was said that Doppstadt had found its “comfort zone”. That is possible. It is also possible that, with a fleet of mobile units that has seen little or no renewal in the last 12 years, since the 2008 crisis, innovations such as the “limiter system” (the best preshredder size-sorting system on the market) or shredding shafts with different tooth sizes (S, M and XL) have passed under the radar in the Spanish market.
